    Lamborghini aventador

This car is being built to about 1/3rd scale, isn't it? At a length of five feet , it should have it's own display room. This model will be magnificent when it's finished.

    Wrebbit Mercedes-Benz 500K Roadster 1:10

I had no idea the kit was that involved, and had that many items. What was the price of that kit when new?

Your build looks great, Shipscape. What weight of cardstock is that model? Saw this kit on eBay a couple of nights ago. Bidding was to start a $25+. New in box.

    Greetings from MI!

Hello to you, from Kalamazoo. Good job on the arcade replica. What weight of cardstock did you use? My thing is paper model cars. Good to see another Michigander here.

Holy smokes, real spokes! And that engine looks like it could run. That's a lot of detail, and that model represents a lot of patience.

    Full scale 1969 Mustang...in PAPER

The ultimate paper model. I don't know if any other paper model has ever come close to the scale, realism, or detail that this one has. Now, if only he can get it to run!

    Re- introduction

Thank you for finally introducing yourself. Get a digital camera as soon as you can. It allows you to share photos of your work. It's amazing what can be done with a digital camera, when it comes to closeups of models.

    Hi from the UK

When glueing parts edge-to-edge (butt joints), use extra layers of cardstock along the edge of the part being glued, to increase the amount of gripping area.

Thank you, John. Whose work is this, of whom you speak? What threads should I look for? I would like to see this approach.

I used to get the same response from plastics modelers, when I would show them my cardboard cars: "Have you thought of trying sheet styrene? " I would explain to them, that with me, cardboard is not a material of last resort, but my material of first choice.

Rear views. Note the bow in the rear deck of the blue car. This is the more accurate shape, when compared to the real car.

The red and black one is colored paper over cardstock. For the blue one, I made a master sheet of parts, using colored paper parts glued to a white cardstock sheet, and made a color copy of this on my copier, thus making a sheet of color printed parts. I then built the model from that.

Two cardstock models that I designed and built, both about 1/32nd scale.

Thank you, for the hearty welcome and the compliment. And yes, I am enjoying the new Zealot. Until I first discovered Zealot some years back, I thought I was the only one building models from paper and cardboard. Zealot was the first card model forum that I joined, and it was like discovering...

My name is Mark Crowel, and I've been a member of Zealot since maybe 2005 or 2006, but I haven't posted for at least a couple of years, so I rejoined. Looking forward to displaying my paper model car projects, and seeing other members' model cars.
