Need advice about RC options for ultralight paper airframe project

Or get rid of the rX pins and solder everything to the board  pushrods: Pieces of straws (perhaps those small diameter doubles)? Good luck :-)

Yes, CG can be tricky, especially ever since the batteries got lighter and old NiCd are obsolete ;-) Before adding lead, consider adding a different battery or re-ad the rx encasing, so at least it is for something usefull ;-)

Yey for webcams! :-) Well, sounds like a plan. Hopefully you will not have to buy THAT many servos- then I would really consider a diferent hobby

haha, true :-) Try r2hobbies.com giantcod.co.uk ebay (a little further down on the result page here) :)

Well that range sounds just fine- the silverlit/airhogs toy planes get 100m-150m ratings, and thats enough for park flying... Gluegun? There'S nothing you can't do with one.

Need advice about RC options for ultralight paper airframe project

Great, congratulations! :-) Seems like it's all ready for the next phase :D Range won't be critical for most flight systems, especialy indoor or slow flyers. I'm certain it'll be just fine! If all works on 1s, I'dd say go with one of these <1g ESC without voltage booster... Saves the...

As I said for planes the basic 4ch setup is fine, the mixers and all that are more usefull for helicopter pilots - and some easy to fly models arround these days :-) Good luck with your plane's diet :D

:-) Got the link? I'll try to see if I can find the file. hehe, I like the idea of rc hobby gods. Though my planes usualy seem to have been jinxed by the underworld. Charger: Well, okey then :) Either will work :thumb:

Yep, that one :-) "yarage" - never heard of it. Translator failing me as well. According to google it's ship related; Yarage [See Yare] (Naut.) The power of moving, or being managed, at sea; said with refer. to a ship Which links do you need? Charger - or charge the AA with...

 Yep... HP also wants to enter the 3D market. While they aim for small businesses now, this might get the whole thing going, resulting in price drops and small home devices from other manufactors. Look at the cupcake makerbot 3d printer kit... $649 for all parts... I know laser...

Yeah, rcgroups is a nice place. Good luck with your builds, keep me posted ;-) 3D printers... The basic makerbot cupcake or reprap kits start at +/- $600 bucks unless you source the parts cheaply somewhere else... The pp3dp cost's a whooping $3,000 but there's a promotion going on so...

Well you could make a sailplane for now perhaps, untill the esc arrives? motor & temp: Don't worry. If you do not run full speed all the time (rather unlikely) it will be fine. Heck, even the brushless on my cb100 gets hot as hell, but those brushless motors are more rigid then the ones with...

As I said somewhere way back in this discussion, Lipo usualy charge with 1C. So a 100mAh pack charges with 100mA, a 2000mAh with 2A. Newer, better cells may handle 2 or even 5C, and some small ones will do too- but their lifespan is longer if you charge them slower. Yep, the casing is...

ESC: Yikes. Odd that the problem still occurs. If it's their fault, open a claim ticket. Receiver: 6V? Usualy a bec delivers 5V-6v. so 5v should be fine. Also, if the reciever has a simple voltage direction protection, you could bypass the diode and it would be more tollerant to lower...

I do not know about shaft extendors, but it might cause wobble. Also- at least with the bigger motors, you can replace the shaft with a longer one. If the manual causes trouble look in the product discussion, reviews or forum of Hobbyking, some chargers also have a discussion going on...

Oh Im sure it'll fly... my first plane was hopeless underpowered untill changing the prop to a bigger three-blade which burned out the motor in the long run :-) But it flew... 1,2KG, 300g thrust.... Poor thing. Lead duck.

Need advice about RC options for ultralight paper airframe project

Well, some hate outrunners if they want to hide the motor in the canopee :-) The little 2g motor has a rather high kV rating, probably due to it's size. 7000kV it is i think? Usualy the cheap big outrunners have 800-2500 or such, even the 5g BL has 2000kV. But for such a small plane I bet it...

Need advice about RC options for ultralight paper airframe project

Fresh out of the factory :-) Well, most stuff does not need a manual anyway (Motor running the wrong way? change two random wires...) Sorry about the motor info- Outrunners have a spinning can, I totaly forgot this. They have lower rpm but more force, while inrunners have high rpm...

Hehe, good. Well, you'll find something with 12-16v that'll work I am sure. And sometimes we need to support the local economy

Sure would :-) Yes, Hobbyking can get a bit confusing. Big store, many things to look at, and lots of check out options. Yeah, tracking only works to the harbor or something ;-) What ever happened with the Hobbypartz express shipping bill btw? 200mA is a bit low. Even though a...
