You guys are a lucky pair.....Two gorgeous layouts, and a sackful of stories to go with them....I guess you'd call them layouts with soul....of which there are few and far between. Dr. Wayne's come to mind as well.... Keep those pictures and stories comin'....

I did build several coal loads using a foam base and sprinkled WS coal and dust on them....They do look nice. The Varney hopper was my Ol' Man's so it's going to stay just as he left it to me.....as several other cars from him.

Great pics of a really neat RR....You guys have done some excellent work..!! Did those top logs ever wander off leaving the load loose...?

Are we to suppose that the failing economy is O's fault..?? The guy hasn't taken over yet....And even then, there's no magic light anywhere that'll do a quick fix, not even the one at the end of the tunnel....

$$$$$'s is the reason....If the departing mods are putting the same kind of effort they put in here into other forums, folks will start visiting them, and obviously won't be seeing the links and adds that generate the $$'s for CG....

Deano...I've lost count of how many of you are "resigning"..It's a shame that it's come to this. I really hope you all remain as ACTIVE members here or this place will go down the tubes... You've all done a fantastic job and we all owe you a big "Thank You"... We'll be surely looking forward to...

You will also notice that prices for stuff that went up in the days of near $5/gal. gas have NOT come down..?? Now some other folks are having their turn at scalping the public....

I've got a plastic Varney hopper (the red one)....I think it's a little on the smallish side when compared to the "regular" hoppers...

I think Detroit is starting to "export" foreign cars in the hope that domestic cars will start selling....
