    Intimidation

There's no need to be intimidated. The guys who do all those great builds have plenty of faulty glue seams and mediocre builds behind them. One great advantage of paper modeling from self-printed pages is when (notice I don't say "if") you screw up you can just print another page and start over...

    4 Shared Work Around

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try that next time. Those bleeping file storage sites are the scourge of the paper modeling hobby, but I can understand why people use them. Now and then I run across one I just have to give up on.

Yes, hi, too, Rob. I'm yet another paper modeler in Texas. Enjoy the forum.

    Greetings

Hi, Tim. I know exactly what you mean. My model accumulation-to-build ratio must be about 100 to one. This is a great forum for you, though. Welcome and have fun.

lincoln futura concept paperproject in the 1950's

Yes, the '60s TV Batmobile was the transformed Futura. I believe I read that George Barris bought it from Ford for $1.00, though, making it about the cheapest car in the world, not the "most expensive" as the lady says in that YT clip. It's been decades since I saw that movie and I didn't...

    Castle Ruins Diorama

That's a great one, Mauther. I can imagine a lot of uses for it whether knights or war scenes or even as a Halloween decoration. I bet we see it in some future posts by builders. Nice work. Wade

    Availability of Uhu glue....

I hope I haven't caused too many headaches in 7 years of selling on eBay, but I guess I know what you mean. I was a kid in golden age of model building before the glues received a bad reputation because of a few dimwitted kids doing "gluesniffing". Nobody cared what kids played with I was kiddo.

This sounds likes a business opportunity for an enterprising UK retailer (or eBayer?).

    Hiya Everyone!

Glad to have you around, Pom. I did a blog post about this topic recently. I looked all around and didn't find any John Carter paper models just yet. I suspect we'll see something soon enough, though. Maybe we can seed some imaginations. Wade

    Fly'N Things GREAT FREE Models!!

Well, here's another bump. That's a pretty decent stealth fighter model in there. I don't think I've downloaded one of those before. Wade

get ready for 2012 concept cars list!

Now you're talking my language. Technically, the Lexus 2054 wasn't so much a concept car as a movie prop, but it was drivable. Ten points and a pat on the head to the next reader who names the movie without looking it up :)

Buildings from around the world for wedding

Oh, and for Disney models, you want to go to the Disney Experience. Those models are very good size, but be ready to put in some build hours. Wade

Buildings from around the world for wedding

You could start at Canon Creative Park, but those models are much smaller than the one in that picture. The models might be printed larger, of course. But that could cover Paris, Egypt, Australia, London and Greece. Mauther's super cool Petra model would look nice as a decoration. Maybe someone...

    Hi from NYC!

Welcome, fellow trekkie. You'll find some TNG models posted at this forum, including Gary Pilsworth's Enterprise D. There's probably a TNG build thread or 2 around, too. Also, I've got a page of trek model links at my site (below), too. Wade

    How do I remove color

OK. I'm still using Photoshop 7, though it served most of my needs just fine. This thread prompted me do some poking around and had some good results. You can set up the free OpenOffice Draw program to import vectored PDFs and edit them-- sometimes. There are plenty of exceptions, but it's worth...

    How do I remove color

The normal way to edit a vectored PDF would be to open it in a vector editing program like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw or, perhaps, the free Inkscape. I've recolored, resized and rearranged pages in CorelDraw easily. Unforch, they keep "improving" the PDF format and my old CorelDraw version...
