Original TV Series Batmobile Sells For $4.2 Million At Auction.

You're closer to right than you might think. Our local Dallas ABC affiliate, WFAA, used to run a weekly "Let Me Speak to the Manager" show where manager Mike Shapiro would answer letters on air. I remember him grumbling once about that new Batman show costing a whooping $25,000 per episode...

    Easy and fun

That's a really fun idea. There seems to be some download issues, but hopefully that's temporary. I'll try designing a Paper Hollywood one after I get my inkjet going again.

    Tip for gluing closed models

It looks like Fiddler Green gets the blame this time, thus the designation "FG" in the name given. It's a really cool looking glider, though. NO LINKS TO COMMERCIAL SITES!!

    A 787 paper model?

There are some great links in this thread, but it seems to demonstrate what can happen to your eyes from straining them on all those tiny model parts. The OP was looking for a model of a 787 back in April and got links to two interesting 737 models instead. The Ana 787 model Mattokun linked...

It's good to here from you Rogerio. I've often suspected South America had access issues. I've sold a huge variety of thing on eBay over the years, shipping to all continents-- except South America. I've never even had and inquiry from there. Paper modeling is about the only area in interest in...

    Prometheus "(SPOILER ALERT!!!)"

While there's a little talk of a sequel, nobody involved seems at all enthusiastic about doing one. The screenwriter has said he won't be writing one and I've got a feeling Ridley Scott's interests are moving to other things. That's fine with me. This is one movie that doesn't stand up very well...

    Waterproofing

That's not a bad idea to do with most paper models, actually. I've always tried to spray some sort of protective coating on mine. Most inkjet inks are pretty water soluble.

    Waterproofing

One one hand, lamination would seem to be about the best protection from water, but on the other hand, construction would probably not quite be possible as intended. You'd have layers of plastic on both sides of the stock, so you'd have to use a glue that works well on the lamination plastic...

    UHU02 Space Station!

That frame work is absolutely fantastic. I can see modelers actually preferring this over a production hard model. UHU is the maestro.

    Windows 8

I've been dealing with Microfuzzy since the DOS days and my main computer has basically been an evolution of itself since the mid '90s. My hard earned philosophy with operating systems is not to upgrade any more often than you can absolutely get by without. Every time I've upgraded it's screwed...

    Autodesk 123D - New Free 3D Software

Autodesk just released several new free 3D design programs as free downloads, under the name "123D". I haven't had time try it out yet, but it looks promising. Autodesk is maker of AutoCad, the longtime industry standard professional CAD program and I suspect this is their response to the...

    Futuro Fiberglass House 1969

I recall seeing these in books and magazines, but I don't think I ever saw one for real. It certainly has that "take me to your leader" look. With a few design changes it could have looked just like the Jupiter 2.

    Concorde from Currell.net

Super build. Currell's Concordes are so beautiful. I saw a Concorde take off once-- the one and only time it was ever allowed to come Texas. It was for the grand opening of DFW Airport back in the '70s. It was a sight and sound I will never forget.

    Paper-Replika.com

I just browsed the site awhile and got the right pages with every click. I can't imagine he's misdirecting with links. That's very bad website practice. I suspect the misdirections were unintentional.

    Prometheus "(SPOILER ALERT!!!)"

This may sound odd, but I've never been particularly keen on "buying" movies. I own maybe a dozen DVDs and that's it. I've long lived within walking distance of a Blockbuster until it closed and now I've got at least two $1/night Redboxes within walking distance. With our broadband, streaming...

    Prometheus "(SPOILER ALERT!!!)"

I want to come over to your house and watch movies. My setup's nothing close to that. In the Dallas area we've got some pretty good theaters, but I usually just make them for the big special effects flicks. Video stores are pretty much extinct, having been replaced by the Redbox and Netflix.
