I don't think the Lionel stuff is bad. I believe they are speaking of the cheaper style starter train sets that are out there. I've had a few and they lasted for a minute. I got a large scale steam set as a gift once. Was reeeeaaally excited about it, until I opened it and found the track was...

I'm trying to run CNW, L&N, and MP. A few UP here and there and going to throw a SSW, SP, and at least one NS loco in there. love that black paint on the NS locos! :D

Could be worse! I'm trying to model the MP as a present day railroad which in reality is a fallen flag. I have to repaint and decal all my newer locos. I have few AC4400's in Jenks blue and one decaled up so far. Its a pain in the butt. sign1 I wish I was infatuated with the UP. :cry:

I wish I could post bigger pictures. I think it turned out well considering it came to be from a shell and a cab that was in my junk box. Handrails from a GP40-2 that were bent and ran differently on the front. It still lacks some detail work and the nose stripes need touching up. Thanks guys...

Heres a updated pic of what it looks like now. I couldn't find a door for the front but my LHS had a great 3 piece photo etched brass unit. That was pain to get put together but looks great now.

Thats some good info right there! I had no idea that Pine Sol would strip paint. :thumb: I've never stripped a shell but I have spent hours on one with 3000 -5000 grit sand paper. :rolleyes:

I have patience for alot of things, but I don't think I would for hand laying track. I don't even think I have patience to weather track. Lots of respect for you guys that do it though. :wave:

My LHS carries packages of them. Lots of different loco styles too.

I don't feel too bad about it. I got th ecab in a lot of parts off ebay. :D I hope I can find the door off the front or at least a replacment! :cry: It was on and I accidently popped it off. Thanks for the link Tom! I was just googling them. :D
