Don't waste your time on this......

Conrail, thanks for sharing your experience with this particular product. While I have no need buy a trestle it is nice to find people who are willing to give an honest product review so we can all make an educated decision on whether to purchase or not. JD

    Group outages

Well, you do live in the Highlands where the internet has yet to be discovered<g> FWIW I heard that Microsoft servers have been having issues lately and that may a problem for where you are located, but I have not had any problems reading The Gauge. JD

LOL! Copied from another forum (I could'n resist to pass it)

Odd thing is that I know of a particular forum where all of this could not be more true - not The Gauge of course. Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at it all<g> JD

Thanks for the pictures. Helps motivate me to get off my back-side and get started with the important things in life - model railroading. JD

    Rail length

Russ, I am emulating the Gaylord Container facility here in Antioch or the Weyerhouser plant in, Elk Grove. My tracks will be stand-alones for all the world to see. Hmm, I better hone my track skills- that are non-existent. Oddly enough, the industrial park in Lodi, Ca has both jointed and...

    Atlas righttrack program

If you have RTS 5.0 just stay with that. The RTS 7.0 release from what I can see has nothing of major difference. But, it is free! JD

    Rail length

Negative on handlaying because I do not know how. Also, I just walked a section of mainline track here in town that is old jointed rail. It was roughly 40ft sections, but I cannot guarantee that is what modern industrial spurs may use which is what I am trying to replicate in HO scale. I...

    Rail length

Good point. I guess I may need to drive to Lodi or Stockton and have my tape measure handy. What I am trying to do is have my track layed as close to scale at least on the industrial leads/spurs. The mainline I will be using flex track to simulate welded rail. JD QUOTE=Russ Bellinis]I'm...

    Rail length

The reason I ask this is because I want to model a modern industrial complex and I want to build the jointed rail to modern day specs. From what I gather, it sounds as if the prototype jointed rail is basically 40 ft lengths which equates to five inches of track segments in HO scale...

    Spilled Grain

I like the idea, but it raises a question. How do you deal with the granulated garlic when you apply a water/glue mix so the garlic adheres to the layout? Seems to me that the garlic would disolve. Other than that, the size and color should work. JD

    Secret Cargo?

Thanks for the update. That is a lot of big locomotive for a narrow-gauge railroad. I sure would hate to know the rail weight they are using<g> JD

    We've got legs...

Good point. I know my clubs specs work for our own operating sessions, but I also know that our modules would not combine with any other local clubs that I am familiar with because the standards are different than ours. JD
