After the last coat of primer dried, I masked off the front casting, and the cigar band. Then gave the model a couple of coats of Fusion White.(hung more lights)

I then shot the model with a couple of coats of primer, letting each coat dry before shooting another. (Also during drying times, hung Xmas lights on the house)

Using Scotch Blue Painters Tape, I cut two squares, just big enough to cover the BN logos. One on the front, and for variety, one on the side. I wanted to make it look like the company that had bought the trailer, took a piece of sheet metal and covered the logos, then painted the whole trailer...

I knew I had a couple of Athearn Burlington Northern Intermodal Service trailers waiting for a home on my layout, I was going to use one of them. I thought the ones I had were bare metal. They weren't. The Santa Fe trailer was the bare metal one. But I still chose the BN model.

After finding a trailer, that once belonged to the Burlington Northern, I decided to try to make one myself. Since it wasn't going to be costly, easy to do, I went ahead.

If you're planning a layout with a yard or passing siding out of reach, or where you're afraid of damaging scenery, I would go with the automatics. Keeping the budget down though, I would plan all switching in the front, then you can use the manuals.

Remote switch has a device attatched that when a button is pressed, will automatically, move the switch points. Manual, you have to use the old "armstrong" method , by doing it yourself. Atlas has a different "control" for both. The manual one has a pin, that you have to move yourself to align...

Just a thought here. Unless the buildings were being built at the same time, the color of brick would be different color red. Different brick manufacturers use different forumulas when making their bricks, hence, one brick manufacturer's brick, would be a different red from another. Some...
