    Puddlejumper's Inglenook

Thanks NKP. Being only 1' wide I have made no provision for legs to be added to stand alone, I will just set it on a large enough table to operate it. The original intent for this layout is to take to local meetings with my train group. We have been meeting for the better part of a year and...

    Puddlejumper's Inglenook

Thanks to Jesso over on the "N" scale forum for the inspiration... today I built an Inglenook Sidings based switching layout. It is 1'x6' and is measured for 34' cars with a 0-6-0 and tender. The 3rd pic shows my setup for the power pack, a phono jack, one on either side of the module, so I...

How much to get these running?

There are several Athearn (RPP) SD38s on ebay right now, ready to run, as well as Kato SD38-2s. EDIT looks like the Athearns are all dummys but you could prolly use parts from a blue box SD40-2 or SD45 to power one of them. Dave

    painting your layout

If you're talking about painting the layout itself paint it before you lay track. Paint the track after you lay it. In both cases you will get better results this way. Dave

    Newb from Sierra Nevada

"We"??? are building a layout?!?!? :thumb: Lucky man, you stumbled onto a keeper if she is modeling trains with you! Where can I get me one of those?!?! sign1 As for the DCC thing it is true that many older locomotives do not lend themselves well to DCC conversion, however if you have a...

Very nice! I especially like the first one, not sure why but it's my favorite! :thumb: Dave

    Which way?

All but the wide-bodys, no bi-directional stands on those. I did like the old-style control stand on the NS CW44-9 I got to run once.

    Home made trees...

Those look great! :thumb: While it is true that trees turn orange in the fall gradually you will see that there are plenty of unrealistically uniformly orange colored trees out there. I would definitely use those. Also I have a maple tree in my yard that is that color almost all year around...

I could be wong but I believe the Tropicana Juice Train is currently a 100% CSXT routing. Dave
