    im stuck on my layout

When I posted my plan awhile back pgandw did the same thing to me too, in the end though, after going back over my layout, it did need revising. Your layout is looking good so far, just need's some "prototype" in it.:thumb:

    Calling All Historians!!!

Calling All Steam Historians!!! (warning to dial up users) I just found in a old box in my garage my grandpa's old MRR equipment. Most of it was just old boxcars with horn-hooks, but I also found these 4 great steamers, 3 from Rivorossi, and 1 old Bachmann, and also a nice Union Pacific diesel...

Amtrak pics reminds me of the one I posted a few days ago. :) The caulking method you described looked like it worked awesome! I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow to pick yup my foam board, and now will diffently be picking up some of that caulk too! Thanks Tom!

    So it starts....

I was looking for the Phase-V's, and once I start my job, I'll be ordering 2 of them. They look absolutly STUNNING!!! Can't wait to get it. The F40PH's motor was burnt out when I bought it, so its my project car. I saw on railpictures.net a picture of a wrecked F40PH, so I think I'll try to...

    So it starts....

More updates... Took to long to get these up too.. But finally new pics. These are just preliminary, nothing set in stone yet. I've set the tracks up to see how it will look, and I must say, I think it's all going to work out. Where the Santa Fe F unit is will be my tourism track, it will...

    Removing Kato shells

I just got a Kato SD80MAC for Christmas, and I'm trying to get the shell off to put a decoder in it, but I can manage to get the stinking thing off. I fallow the instrucstions to push on both sides of the body... But it never works,:curse: and I don't want to break it if I push to hard. Anyone...

    Passenger train ?

Nope, I already have to paint the whole 12 car consisit, and scratch build 2 baggage/generator cars, so I'll go the easy way and just DCC 2 F59PHI's and call it good. To me, with a F59 on both front and back, its looks MUCH more sleak.

    Passenger train ?

Yes, they make the Talgo cars, but they were repainted from that scheme to the newer one once they made it cross country. The cars are made in Italy, shipped over here, dropped off in New York, then hauled cross country (usally in normal freight consists) to the Northwest. This is what they look...

    Passenger train ?

The Dash-8's aren't used so much anymore. Mainly for backup if one of the P42's break down. Also, the first and third one's are older color schemes, not used anymore. You can still see the middle one, but the repainting of the dash-8 fleet has begun to make them all Phase V. On the subject of...

    Passenger train ?

Pacific Northwest is easy (thats where I am:wave:) the Amtraks I listed are the only ones that run here. Depending on your layout size, you could have the Empire Builder Seattle which is 7-10 Superliner cars, a baggage car, and 2 AMD103's, or the Empire Builder Portland, which is 4 Superliner...

    Passenger train ?

The first 2 F59PHI's are the Amtraks Surfliner trains, also found elsewhere though. The 2nd two are the Amtrak Cascades loco's. Very rarly found anywhere else but the Eugene, OR-Vancouver BC run. The only Talgo cars in HO are painted in the wrong color's so one must paint, like I am doing. If...

    Scratch Building materials

Thanks Tom for the WONDERFUL run down on how to do this! I have no doubt that I can do it now, if I just fallow these steps. Stryene just = evergreen plastic type stuff right? The Talgo cars are on order, should be here soon, so I'll be taking pics as I go. Thanks again guys!
