Down here in the Deep South when they're done logging out a pine forest they then dig up the stumps, load them in gons and ship them to Brunswick GA where the cellulose nitrate is extracted to make explosives. Those old gons are really old with blt. dates in the 60's.....Most I have seen are...
That not really a primer, its a color used for simulating the color of something like an unpainted steel bridge. Floquil primer is grey but if you don't have any automobile primer in a spray can will work just fine. Just use a light coat.
Dash, I've used the ferric cholride (circuit board etchant) for the weathering thing. It will make that the siding look like its a 100 years old. Its great for making old rusted out siding but its too strong for light weathering.
Paint the siding grey first and then you can add what ever kind...
Now that's just about as neat as it gets :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
In true Robber Barron fashion  I have been "hording" several old style Bachmann 44 tonners just for those neat self contained power trucks and the body end pieces.
Nope!! :) :D Actually, I finally started my first ON30 project...A Climax out of a Bachmann flat car and an MDC boxcab mechanism :) Pics will follow soon under the Narrow Gauge section :)
A Thought On What The Prototype Would Do
If a logging line would have direct interchange with a standard gauge line then most likely their trackage would be standard guage.
But, if the the logging line's trackage serviced their own facility only then most likely they would have chosed narrow...
Picking But Not Grining !!!
Well, One day while gluing something together with ACC I some how managed to glue my right index finger to one of my front teeth. :D  :D  :D  :D
Hi Shay, OK! I'm old enough to remember that one:eek: :D
Most likely it has a selium rectifier with tons of AC ripple what aint gonna be good for a coreless can motor because of the heat it produces. Considering its age and the type of rectifier I'm surprised that it even works. It must have...
From Ghosts To Lightbulbs
Ain't it amazing how one subject brings up another.:D :D
When it comes to plain old light bulbs cost does not always equal long life. Most light bulbs sold under "name brands" such as GE, Westinghouse and etc. have aluminimum screw bases but the "el cheapo's" have...

Hi Brakie, Sorry to tell you but that was a bad move my friend...you are not rid of that Ouija Board yet.
While many paranormal experts discount the Ouija Board there are just as many that...

Here's a pic of how it looked orginally. The shrouding was removed to make maintance easier. The loco was dismanteled in 1940 after it was hit by bomb.
Do I Win A Prize ?
JIm, The loco is a Krupp-Zolly experimental German turbine built in 1928. The pic you posted shows it in its unshrouded state. Check out http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/germturb/germturb.htm for more information.
