    Are you a model railroader?

I thought it was a law of nature that a model railroa is never truly finished?sign1:p

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] - Part VI

Hey all:wave: Not much happening on the model railroading front, just some weathering experimentation on two hi-cube boxcars and preping a badly scratched up Atheran coach for stripping. I'm going to Cedar Point before school lets in again, so i'll be gone for a few days in the future...

    I can't upload photos!

Well, found out part of the problem for me anyways. Today I just tried to upload the photos again, one at a time. No luck, still got the same error. Then I realize I haven't posted my pics from my trip on the Whitewatter Valley RR, so I try one of those photos. New error: The difference...

    Are you a model railroader?

I voted for the last one because my layout is still the pink insulation board plain that it's been for the past year or so. I voted for the second to last one because I have an old limited edition O scale Ambroid payroll car kit that my Great uncle started but never finished for a...

    An Age-Old Railroaders Problem

okay, lets see...I got 7 Desiels and my Spectrum 2-8-0, so that's 8 engines...and I got at least 12 freight cars and two passenger in service; then there's least three TYCO quality cars dissasebmbled and set aside for later projects, two Atlas (I think) X-74 type 50 high cube cars getting...

Trying to find some Gundam kits

pepakura? No, don't think I've downloaded it yet. I'd still prefer it if the files were .pdf because I don't see doing paper models as a 5th hobby among model trains, collecting Transformers, collecting Hot Wheels, and collecting Exo-Force kits (with the direction the line went after the Golden...

Converting AHM Pacific into CNR Pacific--PIX NOW POSTED

Who knows, I just think that light pacifics don't have giant bulges in their boilers, but I've never really seen a heavy pacific before, so it's just a personal feeling.

    On Track, with Deano

So THAT's what happened to numbers 43 and 44, I always liked them and I'm glad to see that they've gone to a good home:thumb: RRR #1116, my little Hustler, take part of its paint scheme from those two. The diagonal line on the cab seperating the gray and orange was inspired by the split number...

Converting AHM Pacific into CNR Pacific--PIX NOW POSTED

A light Pacific? Really? That boiler size looks more like a heavy Pacific to me.

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] - Part VI

I am currently in the middle of one of my worst yearly nightmares: my sister's slumber B-day party:eek:. It's an anual thing for her (read: torture for me) to invite all of her most energy-loaded friends to celebrate her B-day in the form of jumping all over the house and constantly bugging the...

    G.E.C's layout pictures

The only way I can see that plan working is if you can put the cockpit glass in after you paint that area. Otherwise, just painting over the problem areas with a close match to the base paint, in this case probably Testor's aluminum pait, should fix the problem. On my A-10, the only color on the...

Converting AHM Pacific into CNR Pacific--PIX NOW POSTED

Hmmm, the only white painted parts I see are on the cab and the tender, and I think that unless you're gonna paint the whole thing some color other than black, simply painting over the parts you want gone seems good enough. If you're gonna paint the engine emerald green or something, however...

    Ion Generator Wire Problem

Wow, it wasn't just the wire polarity of the white wire that ws the problem then. The problem is that I was using the A.C. one! The moron who wrote the first instruction set linked to the wrong generator:curse:... I wasted $20 because of him... Oh yeah, on my AC negative ion generator, I did...

    Ion Generator Wire Problem

Hey everyone:wave: Right now I am trying to build a static grass generator of my own by using proven methods found on the internet. I have aquired all the neccessary things, and even assebled a supposedly working generator. Except it's impossible to tell what polarity the white wire is on the...

Idaho Springs Mine (Campbell craftsman kit)

It dulls the shine so anyplace the paint doesn't cover won't shine and ruin the effect. Nazgul- nice to see you back and posting modeling pics:thumb: This is a structure I see tucked away in a corner and served by a small siding, code 70 rail and not alot of ballast if it's nearing the end of...

    G.E.C's layout pictures

I hear you on the plane kit, I'm currently super-detail painting a Revell Snaptite A-10 Warthog that I built back in 1999 while I have some break time due to my lack of model train stuff to mess with right now. So, abandoning the passenger-oriented Northeast for a simpler freight line? Might...

    Flea Markets/Yard Sales?

I rarely go to yard sales, as I find swap meets held by local MR groups offer a much larger and more selective choice of goods. I've honestly never been to a flea market, although aparently you can get great stuff for low prices for any of your hobbies, not just model railroading.

Trying to find some Gundam kits

Thanks! My computer says that I din't have the right program to view the layouts 'cause they're .rpo or something. I can read PDF files easy, though, so if you could convert them into that kind of file, that would be great:thumb: I am new when it comes to paper models (I've only built a HAKO...

Trying to find some Gundam kits

Ah, that's the one! Thanks for the link, I was a ble to use the info to track this set down: http://plajapan.com/product_info.php?products_id=10128 . It's the only super-detailed version of Nobel Gundam I can find, but I don't think it's a kit and it only comes with God Gundam. As for Bombard...
