Up close and personal with a caboose!

Well, being a newbie to the world of trains, I finally got my up close and personal experience with a caboose. I was driving through Kelso WA (the same area I model) and out of the corner of my eye I saw a caboose on the side track. I pulled the car into an alley and made my way up to the...

    Billboards

Being stuck without room for my layout, im still plowing full steam ahead with my scratchbuilding of structures. However I would like to take a break from buildings and scratchbuild some Billboards. This is probably a dumb question, but does anyone know what some common business were...

Question of the day, 11-21- train shows

Living here in Portalnd OR I assumed they would be more frequent. I called my LHS today to ask them when and where the next one is and was told that they are few and far between here. Not one scheduled till next march.

    Finally, the 4-8-4

Forgive me, im still a newbie so if if any of this is wrong (fellow gaugers) please correct me. I would recomend replacing the whole truck. Some (although very few) will have a peg inside the gear box to mount the Kadee on...although if I remember it is too narrow to keep the coupler in place...

    Finally, the 4-8-4

Hey! I think I can help with this. I had a couple lionell car with truck mounted couplers (which im assuming is what you are talking about) and yes, they are removable! Place a flat bladded screwdriver between the body of the car and the truck, the "Flattened peg" is not heat sank into the...

    What glue?

I use super glue that is manufactured by my LHS. Whats cool about it is that they offer it in three different thicknesses....which is great for filling gaps when needed. You might check if your LHS does the same.
