    JL Innovative Design

Im not usually one to hype a company or website, and I have no affilliations with this one, but I just wanted to say that I have never been treated so very very well with extensive personal attention from the owner himself on a sunday afternoon no less. Check out this website if you havent...

    Heres a question

I gotta tell you, for a cheapo, that $20 7 volt sucker from wallyworld has proved to be pretty decent. Other that quick battery life, its pretty reliable. And you cant be going cordless!

    Total newb questions...

Code refers to the heigh of the rail. Yes, code 83 is more accurate to scale. I would not recommend mixing the two. Im not sure if code 100 is easier to work with, but my experince is that its more readily available...not that 83 is hard to find, that is just my experience. For me, the...

    Heres a question

Ok, ive got a cool question. Besides the obvious razor blade or scale ruler...what is the one tool you cannot live without? Whats the one tool that made your modeling so much easier?

    corrugated steel?

Now I use this for HO, but Ive seen them in different sizes, but those cardboard insulators they put around coffee at the coffee shops have a corrugated inner layer that is perfect for steel. I help myself to them whenever I am able to.

    Home sweet home

Nothing too big to brag about, but I decided it was time to scratchbuild some residential houses. Heres a stuco house and couple sided houses. And sadly its once again, the return of the fuzzy camera phone pics...which is too bad because you cant see the shingles.

    Total newb questions...

Mixing and matching is fine as long as it stays within code (im told) but I use all flextrack in my layout. As far as the glue question, I used elmers wood glue to glue down the roadbed and it worked fine. It has a faster drying time than white glue and its stronger. But you can still move it...

    Need Help Finding

Hey Folks Ive searched high and low and im having the hardest time finding something. Im working on creating a scratchbuilt market, sort of a farmers market style, with fruit and veggies out front. The only problem is, I cant find the bins or tables that would hold the fruit and veggies. Ive...

    Play-Doh's Time Travel Challenge

Ok, im going to jump in on this one. No pictures yet, and im quite limited without a layout, but I will be depicting a Gulf gas station at three different times of the day. Now this is still being scratchbuilt, so should I document my progress or just wait until its complete to share pictures?

Question for the weekend of 12-15, 16, and 17, what are you so proud about?

My greatest moment was watching my loco run across the tracks for the first time. Having never been exposed to MRR in my childhood, and with the help of only the guage, and after countless hours of trial and error, and tedious work, just watching the train doing laps was the coolest moment.
