Working with wet ballast is indeed a pain. It tends to stick to the brush making moving the ballast a pain. Also, ballast that settles into the rails and unwanted places while dry can be fixed simply by blowing on it. Wet ballast can stick to unwanted, and unseen places, and be harder to remove...

Peter you are doing a great job. Moving servers is not easy task, especially if that means changing software. And I gotta say...the new style is kinda growin on me!

Changing gears in forums is always a hassle...you want to fix the probs but not upset the members, and that is a fine line. I should know, I admnastor a music forum of 200+ members. Hang in their folks...play with it...its not as bad as some are saying. Props to those working on it.

Making progress....heck, im almost done! I found a little time this last weekend so I built the rear structure. The miscut roof from the main building came in handy and fit this piece like a glove. I then trimmed out the whole building with 3/32" styrene angle pieces. And my wagon wheels...

Not that there is anything wrong with gluing down your flex track. Many members of the gauge here have done it with great results. I myself chose to nail it down using track nails (available at your hobb store). I would just gradually work my way round the curves driving the nails into the the...

Flex track is in my opinion just easier to work with and pretty much available at every hobby store ive ever been too. I recomend flex track for a beginner.

I figured out that the most important thing to me with the uncoupling is the reliability...therefore im gonna splurge and get the electric ones.

Ok let me get this straight There are three types of magnetic uncouplers. Electormagnetic- Activated uncoupling with the push of a button Instant Uncoupler magnet- Uncouples upon cars passing over it. Delayed Uncoupler Magnet- uncouples after a coupler is "Spotted" over the magnet...
