    Why So Many Diesels?

Wayne is just a great guy with more knowledge about model trains and such then anybody I know. He's helped me a ton lately and I greatly appreciate his help and knowledge.I was looking at some older threads with Wayne in them and he does have some diesels by the way and as usual they look...

    Why So Many Diesels?

Yeah they were on the junk/toy end for years unless as 6013 said you paid through the nose for brass or were handy enough to do the die-cast kits. They have come along way,I bought my son a Bachmann Plus NYC Niagara and while it's not quite up to the standards of my BLI steamers they look good...

    Why So Many Diesels?

Cost is important and also steamers can be very finicky when it comes to the track they run on from my experience.I like steamers also, but it's very frustrating when they can't go around loop without derailing every few feet while a diesel has little or no problems at all.Generally diesels are...

    Finally!My DM&IR Yellowstone has arrived!

It's going to be re-soldered just not by me,a friend is doing it for me because I've never soldered before and I'm not about to learn on this engine.I have heard about that also, but I found no details floating around the box on mine so that's good. Thanks for the suggestion Russ! Chris

    BLI Steam Engine short problem.

Hmmm, this is strange. When I tried to turn down the volume it quit working again so I wonder if maybe there is a loose wire in the tender?I fiddled with it and it works again so I don't know. Chris

    BLI Steam Engine short problem.

Well,it works now though I'm not exactly sure why.All I did was to take off the bottom cover and made sure the wheels were in their proper place and it worked after that. Russ-I don't know how old it is,but it was made when they weren't allowed to use RTC and about the only thing the Quantum...

    BLI Steam Engine short problem.

It's new and the driving wheels look clean to me.Not sure about whether it's wired correctly or not,but I would rather not open it up as I am not familiar with that sort of stuff.Everything looks good from the outside though so it will probably need to be opened up by someone qualified to do so...

    BLI Steam Engine short problem.

I just bought a BLI SF 4-8-4 with sound and DCC off of ebay a while back and it shorts out and doesn't run.It only shorts out when the drivers are on the track, the tender is fine hooked up to the engine or not.I'm running on DC with the Quantum Engineer and I just can't get it to work.My other...
