    DCC just can't choose

I have a NCE system and chose it over the Digitrax because I thought it was more user friendly, however I use Digitrax decoders as they have softer wire on the ones that I install in my steam locos. I think that both manufactures offer great systems!!!!!!

    Micro-Trains Trucks and Couplers

Body mounted couplers are more realistic and work better when backing up. The only draw back is coupling on tight curves, as they won't.

I'm Ready To Set My Layout On Fire

You may want to check the wheel gage with a NMRA Standards gage to be sure that all the loco wheels are correct. Wheels that are out of gage will cause all sorts of problems especially if you are running the Atlas Code 55 track.

    Converting to DCC

When I got in to DCC I converted my first loco my self, it was the Kato Mike. I got the info on the conversion off of the net. all went very well, I took my time and did not hurry, looked at the photos often to make sure all was done correct. I know that perhaps my skill-set is above average...

What is the Best N Scale Track?

I all depends on several things, First both are good, Kato being a little more costly but has roadbed attached and wiring for turnouts will be simplified with the Kato's plug in system and all equipment will operate on it. The drawback is that Kato only offers fixed radius curves. Atlas...

    Peco flex-track

Peco use to offer replacement ties for areas of joining flex track (when one removed the ties) these had a recess for the rail joiner to clear so that you did not end up with a high spot at the joiner area.

DPM is a very good source for the components that you want, I have used them with good success.

    Atlas code 55 turnout machines

I am not one that advocates the use of E-tailers but if you shop them you can find The Tortoise actuators for a lot less (especially when you purchase them in lots of 12 or more) than what the LHS's sell them for. I have used the Tortoise's since they came out and have yet to have one fail...

    Layout stuff?

I used the WS on my layout with very good success, the only drawback is the cost for it. If money is an issue one could accomplish the same results with some added labor and time using Foam Insul-board.
