I reached the top of the first mountain this weekend.I still have some tiles to put in on the one side below the tracks. I will have three mountians on my my layout.

The way I did the mountian is by breaking ceiling tiles and putting them in pieces by piece cutting and shaping them to fit. It takes a long time to build but the look is worth it. Here is a closer pictures This picture was taken during the work on Saturday

My son and I worked on this layout together. This is the best picture from the snow on the layout. That layout was taken down earlier this month to get repair work done in the basement.

Every Christmas eve the kids leave a train set with the milk and cookies for Santa a big plate of cookies. When the kids wake up they find their presents in the middle of the train set which is up and running. I'll post pictures of it Christmas day.

I usually end my day by running the trains before I turn in for the night. Although I do enjoy building the plastic buildings, scenery and track planning. I hate going to the hobbyshop they have tried to sell me more stuff then I needed for projects.

Thank you David that is a great idea. The layout is in nscale but it is a double main line and 3" wide would work for both lines. As soon as I get time I am going to go look for the foam at home depot.

Has anyone ever use foam on top of the plywood as a base if so were could I find it? I was looking for inclines and only found 2%, 3% and 4% I was looking for 1%. I don't think that they make it in 1%. I was wondering if there was any way to make a 1% incline like the woodland scenics or to...

I did not get done what I wanted to this weekend. I got a little more done on the city. I got one building done and the poles and wires done for the next two blocks that still needs buildings for.

Since today is the last day of the layout party and I am to tired to any more work I am finished. I only got one more block done. Here is the picture.
