    Economic Stimulas Check

Thanks Colton_modeler and ScratchyAngel for ironically explaining to a Canuck what an economic stimulas check is all about. If I get such a check from the Canadian government I'll buy a new pair of walking shoes ( less expensive than buying an SUV) Jacques

    DC or DCC??

I already voted. I started with an N scale Fleischmann DCC layout. I was born in Europe so I wanted to have an European layout. I was disappointed with Fleischmann DCC throttle because it is incremental ( as in digital ) and not continuous. I had another problem with DCC when I built a micro...

    Economic Stimulas Check

For such price I would rather get a good Belgian beer brewed by the Trappist monks such as Orval or Chimay. Jacques

    Economic Stimulas Check

Oh I see, like a bonus check. At least It's better than giving some undeserved salary to a stupid and incompetent Canadian Foreign Affairs minister so he can get a relationship with a low reputation woman tied to the hells angels criminal gang. 'Maxime knew' of biker ties, Couillard says -...

    Economic Stimulas Check

Could our friends south of the border please explain what an "Economic Stimula Check" is ? Is it the check you get after filing your income tax form ? Jacques

    CN long hood forward

I didn't know my question would start such a controversy lol I'm afraid I opened a can of worms :) Interesting replies from anyone. By the way Wayne , who is Marc ? Squidbait or Triplex ? Jacques

MRC Sound Decoder for Kato SD80

I went through the 01636 "diesel sound decoder" installation sheet but it is scary at least. I can see horrifying words such as "challenge" and " frame milling" lol Jacques

MRC Sound Decoder for Kato SD80

Thanks for the link to MRC website darkcurves. My layout is so small that I can't afford to run 6 axles engines. I don't want to hijack the thread , but I noticed on MRC website that they have an ( almost ) dropin decoder for 4 axles engines , mostly Atlas GPs: MRC - DCC Series - N GAUGE DROP-IN...

    Hamilton Stuart Street Yard

cn nutbar I didn't even know that CN had such an orange paint scheme. It wouldn't be too difficult to apply it on an undecorated switcher. Is it anSW9 ? Jacques

Ah the good old ( N scale ) scheme paints . Better than a CPR Pac Man. I still like the CN zerbra stripes ( that's one of the reason why I model CNR ). Great Sweeps picts, ( a kitbasher dream ) . Do you hear Hobbycraft Canada ! Jacques

    CN long hood forward

Thanks David, Squidbait and Triplex for taking some of your precious time to reply. So, it looks like the data supplied by our living CN encyclopedia ( Squidbait ) matches the picture ( in our case, CN 7058 ) and confirms that some CN GP9 were built ( or rebuilt ) with the controls for long...

    Hamilton Stuart Street Yard

cn nutbar, It looks like some pics were taken directly from the yard. Are you a CN employee, or are you in very good terms with the CN police ? Jacques

I agree. I'm modelling the CN in N scale. I don't feel like running a railroad but I feel more like running a herd of zebras . Jacques

    Atlas Nscale GP-38 Electrical glitch?

By the way Herc, don't you think you'll have more chance to get more replies if you post that question on the N scale subforum ? Jacques

    Atlas Nscale GP-38 Electrical glitch?

Herc Driver, I don't have experience with 5 years old Atlas engines, but the 1st thing I would try is to swap the trucks assemblies. On the new Atlas engines, you just have to pull gently on the truck assemblies to separate them from the frame. Note carefully the gears position before...

    CN long hood forward

Is it common for CN engines to run long hood forward ? On friday, it was the 1st time I saw such a CN engine running that way. I thought it was specific only to Norfolk & western . It is impressive. Now I won't be ashamed to run my N scale CN engines long hood forward. Jacques

great pictures everyone. I like the Ralph's idea about the switch stands. I wish they made N scale resistors . I painted the styrene road on my switching layout and did some railfanning down the road.
