re this is how my first one turned out. What I ended up doing was just lay the track and let it dictate the drop. Then I ballasted. I applied a couple layers and sort of pushed it in from the sides to take out the slack and actually support the track.

I'm at the point of growing grass, trees and also ballasting. I've put down a coat of dirt (paint). Which would you guys do first, ballasting or grasses?

re Shamus, quick question. On the painting of the rail. how did you do that. I have no air brush so I would have to brush it on the side then wipe the top clean. Also, what type paint goes on atlas nickle oil or latex? Thanks

last one for now These are bumpers I found today at my train shop. They are atlas code 83 but look better than those big guys specified for HO 100.

control board pic Control Board, needs painted. Consists of toggle switches and 1/4in screws with the wires attached underneath. Then I use a probe from a ohm meter to make the switch. (Shamus)
