Well first of all, WOW! That's quite an undertaking. A Layout that size would at least, only wood, nuts and bolts, track, cork, with NO scenery will probably cost upwards of $1500.00, easily more. Just a thought. As for operation, it leaves me wanting for some more mainline run, as I dislike...

Hmm, I would beg to differ, although not all steam engines had such embellishments, I would bet that with those types of cylinder heads, it would have at the very least been built of brass, painted or unpainted. I'm looking to modernize my fleet of steam locomotives and I need two or three Vanderbilt oil tenders. I need the 4-axle bachmanns from their 0-6-0 line. Also might consider their 6 axle oil tenders. I will consider the older ones without electrical pickup and the new DCC-ready ones as well...
