I did wash the entire thing Zathros :( I've always felt that Tamiya is a poorer quality than Humbrol, even the kits.

And here we see why I don't like Tamya paints. You can see how the black (Tamya) provided by the model store as they were out of stock of Humbrol matt black as rubbed off from handling, and the yellow (Humbrol) has not. More touch ups required....

It's been a while painting off and on and finally got around to a bit of construction. First the boats Next the beakhead The upper deck Between decks And the guns So the way these guns were in the sprue meant there was no opening at the barrel end. And after drilling them all...

The thought crossed my mind of trying to light her up... That would require a lot, I mean a lot more work... Yellow LEDs.. hmmmm... Nope. I would have to basically construct the entire interior from scratch and I don't have the tools, or the money to buy... The frames are white, based on...

@micahrogers , I've used a thin cloth (rayon if I remember) with modge podge to stiffen

That's why I'm using cloth @Bill Nelson .(see my earlier pictures) The first time I built it I was able to get the sails looking decent, but you can still see they're plastic, never mind the furled sails not looking nice. One thing I've noticed, there is a lot of "flash" on the parts, clearly...

OK, I'm back with this build, it's going to be sporadic due to a variety of reasons. I found some nice fabric which (to me) looks perfect. I used "modge podge" from my daughter's decopague set and I quite like the result! The Modge podge has taken the texture that is on the plastic! :cool...

    WWII restoration

So the restoration job is done! I opted to glue one of the engine side panels and close up the port wing guns. And now some close ups of the engine Gun bay And the under carriage

    WWII restoration

I'd like to get everyone's thought on this; I'm going to glue one of the engine side panels in place, leaving the other and the top loose. Should I close up one of the wing gun bay openings? (leaving the other open, of course)
