I hate it when I get the dimensions wrong!

Rather than cross-post, Brakie is considering a stretched version of this plan (36" x 80").

    A Update

OK, here's just a quickie - stretched it out to 80", I left the upper right open to figure out how to fit the paper mill. ADM elevator on the one spur, just for scale (and also 'cos it's the only one of your structures in the XtrkCad library. ;) )

    A Update

Brakie, What are the dimensions of the two Superior buildings? How do you want them arranged? Walthers doesn't list the N scale dimensions - I could take the HO ones and cut them in half, but it still doesn't tell me how you'd like them arranged in that corner. Do you want the overflow...

This was sitting in my friend's engine track!

Well, I don't know how "perfect" his track is, but it's Atlas code 83 laid on Woodland Scenics foam roadbed over foam. It's held in place with push pins every 4-6". It ran at full throttle through #6 turnouts, 24" radius curves (with easements) and a 30' crossing. Jerry believes in...

    Proto 2000 Loco Help.

Someone should double-check this, but I'm pretty sure these will fit the Proto drive. I seem to remember doing an emergency repair on a friend's Proto loco with an Athearn axle from the junk box.

Nah. The yellow sausage doesn't work for casting, it's more for trolling. :p

This was sitting in my friend's engine track!

My buddy called me over to see his newest toy... it's pretty sweet! Runs very well, and the sound is incredible! Video soon (once I get the :curse: batteries in the camera recharged - they died just as we started filming the sound sequence wall1)

    A Update

Larry, We could stretch this one out to 80" from 60", that should give you more room for industries, plus a little class/interchange yard. ;)

Hmmm... I'm feeling left out! I didn't get an update post about all the new activity since I posted the A&WP pic. :( Ah well, Here's a caboose for ya, Essex Terminal Railway #55.

    Digitrax or NCE?

The easiest way to do it is to use a double-pole, double-throw switch. It will have 6 terminals. Wire 2 of the outside terminals to your DC power pack, wire the other 2 to the PowerCab. The centre pair go to your track, or your control panel (if you have block switches). Wiring it this way...

That's some grade there, Charlie! :p Here's a C&O gon (and burro crane and caboose!) being pulled by former Atlanta & West Point GP40.

    Finally started building.

I think you've got it. The offset (according to John Armstrong and XtrkCad) should be 7/16 or .44". The distance from the end of tangent to the end of fixed radius should be about 16". The distance from tangent to fixed radius (in my experience) doesn't need to be exact, so a ballpark is OK...

    Finally started building.

Sorry, I'd never seen your other thread. I'd stick to #6 turnouts or larger for the main, and nothing smaller than #5 in industrial areas. Anywhere you're going to run longer locos (big steam, 6-axle diesel) and long freight/passenger cars, I'd stick to #6's. Your 24" radius should be the...

    Finally started building.

OK, Personally, I think you're putting the cart before the horse by building your benchwork before you have a track plan. Unless you're building a 4x8 table, you're likely going to limit yourself to possibilities. Before anyone can answer your questions (other than track spacing), we need to...
