    A Update

Larry, Not sure what you mean here? Can you point out where you need extra space? I used mostly #6's on the plan, but there are #4's on some of the industrial spurs and in the yard: 1 | Atlas 2565 20 Degree Crossing 3 | Atlas 2700 Remote Std #4 LH Switch 5 | Atlas...

    SF F3A & B - Pics & questions....

They look great! Happy birthday! As for popping the top, I'd guess that the coupler boxes may hold the shell to the chassis... or at least need to come off before you can slide the shell off. As for the MU'ing... I dunno! I haven't seen them. You could conceivably run them both on one...

    Finally started building.

I'd just lay the foam over everything. Cut away the foam anywhere you want to dip below grade. It gives you a much easier to work with surface than the bare plywood. If you haven't bought the foam already, you might consider 2"... gives you more room for dropping the scenery below grade level.

    The Misplaced Fans of RR's

I win at my LHS, too, since the owner is a friend of mine, and our modelling interests (NYC, PRR) overlap. I can usually find a nice selection of power and rolling stock, even though the shop is in Southern Ontario - miles from the nearest NYC tracks, and even farther from the Pennsy! :p

    The Misplaced Fans of RR's

Try modelling a Canadian road. At least you know you can get NYC PRR etc. models. Even though CN is the 3rd or 4th largest railroad in North America, and has a huge modelling base, try convincing Athearn or Walthers or Atlas or Broadway Limited to run some models in CN paint.

OK, I think we'd better get a ruling from Charlie here. I don't think it was ever stated, but I believed the intent was for people to post their own pictures in the thread. I think "borrowing" other people's pictures makes it too easy. I got the feeling this was the case when a couple of...

Tell a guy his Firebird is just a fancy Camaro... see how he feels about it! :p Doesn't matter to me, makes things a lot easier. I just want to make sure I'm clear on the rules, is all. ;)

    I take it we're not being too fussy about variants? GP38 = GP38AC = GP38-2? CP 3042 (GP38-2) leads a pair of C424s East through Campbellville, ON.

Yep. 2 things. The gon's road number was W.P. 6424. The Conrail unit that Charlie posted was CR 6424. So actually, we (I) moved on to Conrail, SD40-2's or things numbered 6424. I went with Conrail. Back to your regularly scheduled photo game. :) Just a refresher... The Rules:

Like this? *edit* Whups! I see they're not quite the same. I have seen the Auto Max cars, in a variety of road names... not sure if I've got pics of them handy.

    Bachmann Dynamis Review

Herc, I'd really give up on the idea of the DCC + non-DCC layout. Go either-or, but not both at the same time. You can throw a toggle switch on the main feed to the layout to swap between regular DC and DCC, but if you try to wire the layout to run DC with a regular DCC throttle at the same...
