    Keep or Sell?

Ha Del, I used the EZMates to convert some of my old tyco, but I didn't used the converter thingy. I didn't know there was such a thingy. All I did was make a little shim to go under the coupler to keep it from saging in the front. They are working fine with the new stuff. I also have a couple...

Gauge Nextel Fantasy League Starting Soon!

I'll play, I've followed NASCAR since the mid. 70's, and I have to say, NASCAR was alot better before they ran off Winston for PC reasons, came up with the out of bounds line, not racing back to the caution flag, the lucky dog rule, 4 car teams, quit going to Wilksboro and Rockingham, did away...

Update: My logging Point - Point layout

Junkie, I like the plan, but most of your benchwork looks to be 6" wide? Two tracks will take up 4" min. so there's 1" left for scenery/blending to the backdrop on each side? Weren't you going to have a 12" shelf? I've been working with a 12" shelf and it's hard to make two tracks "fit" without...

The logging area on my mushroom layout

Loads from narrow gauge cars were often off loaded to a dock or warehouse and stockpiled till there was enough product for std gauge. so both gauges need to use the same track, but at seperate times. Plus the economy of a single track with a third rail vs two seperate tracks.

    point - point layouts

Ha Junkie, Considering the size of the room, a helix would be the only way up and they take up to much of a small room. I'd make the shelf a seperate layout and model a different era/prototype. You can hide the lights for the layout below under the shelf.

    Newbie First Layout

Welcome to the gauge Z, I think it would be a good way to start out in the hobby, IF you have the cash to drop all at once vs buying a little as you go.

    Layout Critique/Questions

Ha Nemo, welcome to the gauge, I notice the center loop of the lower side has only one way in and out, once a train enters, it will have to back out. Also, I'd try and make better use of a 15' x 14' room, remember all the space under the layout can be storage once the wiring is done.
