    Swap meet finds

I think I'll just assemble the little fellow and look into powering it later. I figure 10 bucks was a pretty good price for one and I can always pose it on my waterfront.

    Just A Little Story

    Swap meet finds

My Club put on a model train show and swap meet this past Saturday. It was well attended by both the public and vendors. I managed to sell a few things of mine and I bought the following with the proceeds: A Proto2000 FA2. Two years ago I bought the B unit off the same fellow who I bought...

    Juneco Caboose

Until you mentioned it I didn't notice the markers on the long end. I have seen Canadian National Caboose (vans as they are called in eastern Canada!) run short end forward so that might be the way that railroad ran them. Or it could simply be there was no place to turn the caboose so that was...

    Juneco Caboose

I just picked up a Juneco caboose kit that someone else started. I was wondering if anyone here has built any like it. I understand that Juneco made both Canadian National and Candian Pacific caboose kits. Can anyone tell me which one this is so I can get proper decals. I could also use...

    Lumber load for a flatcar

    Lumber load for a flatcar

Here's one more shot with the banding on the top. Wayne, thanks for the tip on twisting the thread. it woked out well. I used 3/32 square basswood from a local craftstore to build the load. I thought it looked about right for unfinished lumber that my sawmill would produce.

    Building an MDC Shay

I'm about halfway through a rebuild of a narrow guage version. while I'm not performing surgery on it like you plan to Modifying the steam dome should be fairly straightforward. Just keep checking on your fit as you fill off material. It's always easier to remove that add . I also have the...
