Whoahhh coooool! How's that gonna work?

I think you need a 1/2" to 1/8" adapter coupling. I got the exact same airbrush as you (Badger 200) and that's what I use to hook it up to a compressor. Make sure you got a braided cord though. The flimsy vinyl cord might burst under the compressor's pressure.. Great airbrush choice BTW! I...

    Looking to buy this loco

Good lord man, I hope you aren't going to order from them directly. You can get that same exact engine for much cheaper from MB Klein, here: http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ATL%2D8960 You just missed their sale a few weeks ago... They had that Atlas HO GP38...

    Kadee for Bachman 2-8-0

The Kadee whiskers are perfect drop-in replacements for Bachmann's EZMates. I'm 99% sure it should work. :thumb: Good luck!

    Locomotive weight standards?

There is just one element you need to add-- speed. A good illustration that puts it all together I think would be to compare two 2000-hp locomotives, the EMD SD38-2 and the GP38-2. Both locomotives use the same engine and both generate 2000hp. But the SD is heavier, has 6 axles and is...

    Intoduction and First layout

Your locos slowing down going up a hill and speeding up coming down the hill is actually normal.. It's just obeying Sir Isaac Newton's laws of gravity. :D Say, you aren't still using that old pancake-motor-drive Chessie #4127 U36B loco, hopefully? Those old pancake-drive locos are weak...

CN, Santa Fe & Chattanooga Questions

Yes, both CN and CP operated 2-8-0s one time or another.. CN steam engine classes: http://www.angelfire.com/ca/TORONTO/CNRclass.html CP steam engine classes: http://www.angelfire.com/ca/TORONTO/CPclass.html However, I would advise against using that Tyco Chattanooga loco. Due to the...

    Atlas Loco DCC decoders

I bought an Atlas HO Silver series (no sound) B40-8 locomotive equipped with the dual-mode decoder back last January. Here is the manual for the DCC decoder on-board my loco: http://www.atlasrr.com/dcc/Atlas_Decoder_Manual.pdf I had to set a jumper to select DC or DCC operation. Very...

    Starting over on weathering

Personally, I don't like using solvent-based paint to do weathering because the organic solvent makes it "permanent." You can't correct mistakes very easily with those, because the solvent based paint will bond very strongly to whatever paint is there already, and if you strip it off using...

Why do i need a powered "B" unit to my F7"A"?

Yep, Athearns sure are great for rapidly expanding your roster-- They are relatively cheap to acquire, built like tanks (the Super Weight F7s at least, LOL), and are so easy to maintain and keep running in good shape. I remember you mentioning you got young kids.. Those F7As are great engines...

    ???? about passanger station platforms

Check out the length of the platform at this station on the Metro North Commuter Railroad! :D Perfect prototype for those who do not have much room to model a passenger station on a small pike! sign1 (Note: The Breakneck Ridge stop is on the Water Level Route on the Hudson River, of the New...

    Dusty Track/Clean Track, Christmas Village

Hello and welcome, Brass is the stuff that tarnishes fast and loses electrical conductivity. That's what you want to avoid. What you want to get is Nickel Silver track. Even when tarnished, nickel silver still retains conductivity, so it needs cleaning less. If you are setting up just a...

    Intoduction and First layout

    1. A 40ft-box car should weigh around 4 ounces. 2. soldering joints between track sections are done sometimes to improve electrical continuity... Since you didn't specify what kind of problems you are having (stalling with the wheels spinning? derailing? start-and-stop?), I'm not sure what...

    Passenger Cars

Yep, steel cars with clerestory roofs are not prevalent, because wood and clerestory went out of fashion at around the same time (early 20th century). Anyway, Bachmann does make some steel passenger cars with clerestory and 2-axle trucks, like these...

    Passenger Cars

Hi and welcome. First, let's take care of the passenger car question for you... You want old-time wooden coaches with clerestory roofs, correct? You are in luck, because MDC Roundhouse offers a full line of them...

    Hi! New Here. My Layout

Hi Chrisdapos, Some people put lift rings there erroneously, but those little dimples next to the fans are actually for the Q fan conduits (not present on other types of radiator fans). You can bend them yourself out of .015" brass wire. It's a simple L-shaped wire elbow. Hope this helps!
