hi all i decided to assemble a few ho scale walthers hot metal cars that i bought a few years ago. can anyone tell me what would be the right color to paint them. i need all the help/advice i can get. thanks very much. todd

has anyone built the new walthers diesel shop that came out about a year ago. i saw it at my local hobby shop. it looks really nice. just wondering if anyone has built it and what they think of it. i was thinking about getting it, but wanted to see what you guys think about it before i do...

in my experience, i just ordered some conrail decals from microscale. they always seemed to work very well for me. course champ has some nice decals as well and they are very nice to deal with and their shipping is very fast to.

i have both an olderr bachman spectrum dash 8 and an atlas dash 8. there is no comparison. the atlas runs smoother, quieter and the detail work is a lot better.

hi all was wondering if anyone has any experience with the newer diesel bachman spectrum locomotives. i bought one about 8 years ago and it was loud and didnt run that great and i havnt bought one since. i have heard the newer ones are a lot better and was wondering if this is true...

i just did some bowser covered hoppers and used the microscale decals. they seem to work and looked really good.

common brake fluid always seemed to work good for me, but im sure there are other things out there that may work as well or better.

i have never bought anything from m.b klein, but have heard nothing but good things about them. trainworld though in my opinion is about the best. the prices are good and they seem to ship things very fast. however lately i have found that for the bowser and proto 2000 kits, frankos rail depot...

i like the proto 2000 kits too. very nice, lotta detail to them also. and they are not very expensive. l agree with charlie, frankos rail depo has some of the best prices i have seen relative to both the bowser and proto 2000 kits.

you are right there were a lotta conrail hoppers there. also we saw a fair amount of traffic as well, which kinda surprised us since it was the day before easter.

myself and one of the guys from the kiski junction railroad decided to do some rail fanning yesterday and caught this train near one of the power plants near con pitt. its the first pic i ever posted before on here. so thought i would give it a try...

welcome to the board. i have got some decent buys on ebay as well but found wholsale model trains and train world were some of the best places i have bought things from. what i learned and keep in mind im new to the hobby is like others have said is shop around and dont use ebay exclusively.
