    Fly Model M1A1 Abrams

A few more details on this model - The designer is Henryk Wisniewski, and the format is A3 booklet. I also neglected to mention the number of pages of this model. There are 9 pages of parts, with four printed on light paper. Two of these are designed to be backed up on 1mm card, the other two...

How do you soak the paper in CA? Do you just squirt CA from the tube onto the part until the part is saturated? Do you have to sand the part afterwards? I am dying to try these ideas out, but I have to finish my Stuka first. Thanks for all the advice!

I think where I am having problems is with the inner axle and the outer paper sleeve that the wheels are connected to. It is paper on paper, and I think the friction might be a little too high; especially when changes in humidity can cause the paper to expand or contract. The treads do work just...

    Fly Model M1A1 Abrams

Model: M1A1 Abrams Publisher: Fly Model Scale: 1/25 Format: Unknown (approx. 12x16.5") Designer: Unknown I am new to these model reviews; will give it my best shot. I purchased this model about a year and a half ago. I also purchased several Halinski armor models at the same time, and...

GPM Pz Kpfw VIb King Tiger

I have actually built this model and I was asked to provide a few comments. This was my first armor model (after quite a lot of experience building aircraft). I thought it was quite detailed; for example the nuts on the drive wheels are included. When built, these are barely larger than the head...

Does this method have any effect on the color? Is the silicone obvious? Does this product come in a variety of colors, or is it possible to color it? I have the Fly Model M1 Abrams, and I have been giving a good deal of thought to modifying it. In particular, changing the tracks from a "belt" to...

I have been following this thread with interest, and I have a few comments to make. About the working torsion bar suspension - The comment about matching the flexibility of the suspension to the weight of the vehicle has given me an idea. I built the GPM King Tiger, and I modified it to have a...

    Tiger 1

It also keeps the torsion bars from warping. I did not even think about the strength benefits when I did it. I had this crazy idea about modifying the suspension and road wheels so they would actually function. All the wheels on my model turn, but I made a mistake with the torsion bars. I should...

    Tiger 1

Tiger model I have some experience with this model. I found a way to stiffen the suspension arms, and I have not seen any other mentions of this technique. I drilled holes through the hull into the bearing blocks for the torsion bars, and I ran a piece of brass rod through the hull and the...
