painting foam Do any of you paint the black woodland scenics roadbed before laying track & ballast? Will acrylic paint dry out or crack the foam? I don't want a lot of ballast, but I don't want black roadbed either.

inclines I can't find inexpensive z scale wheels yet to scratchbuild the incline cars. My prom & class reunion was on the Gateway clipper. In the spring, I see proms letting out of the sheraton often. Hmmm to be young again, huh?:rolleyes:

no, but... Years ago I was on an engine and we pushed the jordan spreader to clear the mainline of debris near the tracks. We knocked down everything in our path!! I felt like Godzilla.:twisted: We took down trees, mileposts, fences, everything! It was fun. Good luck building it.

I used 2 DPM Hilltowne Hotels and styrene for the P&LE headquarters, and scatchbuilt the station square shops & smithfield street from sheet styrene. Still got lots of work to do...

Your work.. I model N scale, but you are making me jealous! I think your attention to detail is what makes your stuff so nice to look at!

me too I suck at it, but was recently given advice: mix 50% floquil paint with 90%rubbing alcohol. Don't try for a 1 coat paint. use multiple light coats with a few minutes in between. Alcohol will make paint dry quicker. Prime too, with any good primer first.

sick kid You guessed right, she was in daycare on Thursday, and sick on Fri & Sat. We have no choice but daycare 2 days a week, but it is a cold/flu/snot factory.

Just came back from the emergency room, was so violently sick I dehydrated and needed an I.V. to stop the muscles that locked up. Wife was sick yesterday, daughter the day before. This weather (pittsburgh) is making us all sick. How are things in your city?

I haven't seen them run, do they run as good as an atlas or kato 4 axle engine, or are they just a typical life-like engine with better details and couplers?
