Maybe I should stop modelling US trains

Up until a few years ago, I did a lot of mailing to Europe. I never used Global Priority but, rather, small packet or air mail service. Does the USPS contract with GPS also apply to regular air mail or air parcel post?

Ron, I just brought home a Spectrum 4-8-2 mountain and it is every bit as good, if not better, than the spectrum 2-8-0. The detail is exquisite, good power and slow speed control, pulls a lot, and very quiet. Gonna have to have another, I think!:thumb: Dick

    Painless Ballast

Val, I use a variation of your method which seems to work well for me: I put my ballast where I want it "dry". Then, using a 1:1 mix of white glue and water, with a few drops of liquid dish detergent, I apply the water/glue/detergent mix with a medicine dropper.

Thanks, Friends, for all the kind comments. It was a fun project. Philip: the photo was taken in the BAR yards at searsport looking south towards the docks. There are two there, one for freight and one for the unloading of coal (at one time) for the Sprague Company. The docks would be...

I tried to make it look run-down but, yet, still leave open the possibility that it might still be in use. One last view:

    Small Station

I'd like to thank the many friends on the Gauge who encouraged me during this project but, a special thanks goes to Bill Pontin who solved a roofing problem by sending me some roofing material he cast himself. As you can see, it's just perfect for this building. The finished building before...

Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos during construction. The basic building is styrene (clapboard siding and various strips). I used Grandt Line station windows and doors. Not having a good deal of courage and not able to find half round windows in N scale, I opted not to do the half...
