    Walthers #7 curved turnout problem

Under power v hand-sliding: Could be the motor stalls due to momentary bad pickup or short by wheel. This would give a slight motion hiccup or kangaroo effect, perhaps enough, with other factors, to cause a de-rail. Had these been hornby points, I would have pointed you here but that info...

    Walthers #7 curved turnout problem

Gary, you say it tested fine, and then you added structures. Could this have caused distortion? Did you test with switch motors added or not? Wood, plywood etc is always prone to warp because its moisture content will try to find a balance with its environment. That's going to be different...

    Willys Jeep from Modelik

Lluis, excellent build. You mother would have been very proud of you. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: Ken, I don't know of any paper kits, but using jeep wheels copied from the kit, and these pictures, I'm sure that you and Lluis could easily make a trailer. Lego "Maxifig"!

Thanks, jparenti. We have stuff like that to lag our water pipes with. Glad you enjoyed the 'shakespearian' phrase. Mifune73: thank you for sharing.:thumb: Just an idea, our grey lagging wouldn't cut it, but with those pool noodles, you could make: Bertie Bassett (Lots more pictures on...

    Lego "Maxifig"!

Great stuff! :thumb::thumb::thumb: 12 hours? I couldn't do that in 12 weeks. Not sure I understand 'pool noodles'. Sounds like a rather Shakespearian description of the sort of people who put the cue through the cloth.

    Are your trains an escape?

Bob, I was joshing.:twisted::twisted: I've only ever needed physio once, and briefly, thank God. I think that motorbikes don't like me much - they will insist on throwing me off. But that was all-too-many years ago. These days, I'd find a tractor ride quite an excitement. :mrgreen...

    Are your trains an escape?

We all care, Bob. It's good that you're able to get back to the serious stuff - trains.:thumb: I have to congratulate you on graduating from PT - even though I don't know what PT stands for.

    Wooo! Hoooo!

So, how convenient. You have power at home, but none at work? You'd better hope that nobody notices the chain-saw marks on that tree. I like that phrase 'honey-do list'. A very clever use of language.

[Free Model #3] Tucker Sno-cat build

That last photo looks great, David. It inspires me - as if I don't have enough projects going - to make one and convert it to a railbus. The body shape is exactly right. What do you think?

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part V

MadHatter: congratulations! balloon6 Jeff: that's a great solution to a problem. Around here, if you leave a hole in the wall, some scammer will stick in a bogus ATM. Chief Eagles: Yeeeee Haaaah! Marcie: is there any other way? dwiemer: LOL strangely enough, that's often legally true, but...

    First picture

I'll go along with that. :thumb: I'm soaking up all these pictures of layouts so that when I get around to actually building mine, if it's good, it'll be thanks to all of you good people. :thumb:

[Free Model #3] Tucker Sno-cat build

That's a major setback, but you've coped well. You could have ploughed ahead and not mentioned it. It's great that you did, though - it alerts others to the need to read the instructions - or at least think ahead. It also says a lot for your honesty, and I admire that. Those thin bits that...

Officially my official layout thread, authentically official

I'm really sorry to hear of your problems, friend. Save those hands! Don't go lowering the layout, that's too much work. Try putting duck-boards down - you can lose them when the kids grow taller. Better yet - get a friend to put duck-boards down for you. Take it easy, now.

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part V

Slept well last night, unusually for me. Looks like the start of a nice warm day. It's not politics, I assure you. More to do with the South's superior driving skills. (click me) My best wishes and prayers to all, and most especially our friends with health problems.
