    Wire for a Wye

I think you set the tail to the polarity of the track your entering the tail from,, then throw the switch- it will now match the polarity of the other track on which you leave the tail....

    Broken switch rod (I think)

I have removed them and turned them around so the throw sticks out the other side, if your carefull you should be able to get them unclipped and out with just prying up that end of the turnout slightly

    Wire for a Wye

I'm pretty sure that both legs have to be isolated, it would be pretty hard to reverse the polarity of the tail if its connected to the main line at any point.

    Miniature Machining

I'm a machinist by trade,, I'm not sure how to instruct on wood turning, but I'd say pick up a pocket book on wood turning or metal working, something like "Work holding in a Lathe" having chips fly at you is one thing, having the whole workpeice fly at you is another. learn how to mount and...

    Wire for a Wye

Hi guys, I just want to confirm something. I'm progressing on my first layout and I have a yard and town at each end of my basement, and each town has a Wye for turning steamers around, I'm running DCC super empire builder which I installed near the middle of my layout so I get good power feeds...

    Using bigger wire!

I have a book on DCC by model railroader, i noticed it says in there to keep the bus wires straight and parallel but I too have heard of this twisting for interferance reasons, allso I was told that you can not install a capacitor across the bus wires as it i guess you'd say absorbs the DCC...

    Cork roadbed

I'm working with the foam roadbed from Woodland scenics, so far I like it, reasonably priced and very easy to work with. allways soft and pliable easy to hold and glue, very light. Welcome to Woodland Scenics! Home of everything for Model Railroad Scenery!

    Does this exist?

They had to be pretty heavy on the axel loading even with the 6 front and 6 rear, with 2 big cylinders driving only 4 wheels each there and to be some bad slip, too bad they hadnt faced the 2nd set backwards like some,, then coupled them all together so they pulled more evenly,, but i guess the...

    Adding a level

Could use switch backs nearly flat to the wall of the layout,, not as handy for operation, but very nice to watch and simple.

Freight Train Speeds & Train Length?

Well, X-ray or mangneticaly tested maybe, and yes i've seen the sperry cars. This track sees pretty regular loaded grain trains as you can tell by the shine. still doesn't look good to me. but maybe my standards are higher then nessisary.

    How To Use Flextrack

solder them before you curve them, sliding rail to inside of curve (short rail) then when you curve it cut off the excess. you may have to relive the top of a tie or two next to the rail joiner depending on your curve.

Freight Train Speeds & Train Length?

Speedlimit is 45mph unless otherwise posted and its posted alot, i guess 2 guys in a highrail truck can't maintain the miles of track that 2-4men per 10miles used too. speeds are restricted mostly due to track condition, I've walked a few miles doing my research for my layout, bolts missing from...

    Caboose question

Just talked to my friend Thom, hes a current CP conductor, At that time conductors had assigned cabooses, so it would be very rare to see a CP loco pulling a CN caboose, Unless its on trackage that had to be shared, Pool track, so then you could see a CP engine with some cp passenger/cn...
