Still On30, Chris! This one kinda stalled out because I couldn't find the "just-perfect" prototyoe picture to work from. MSC 107 looks like the one. :thumb:
Wow! What a Job!
It is truly wonderful to see folks who care enough to put that kind of work into such a big project. Hats off to all of them, as well as to those who care enough to go visiting and lend moral support. Probably nothing nicer for those working on this to have great people take...
Eureka! You've Found It!
Beautiful pictures, Chris! That first one of the green MSC 107 - Have any other shots of it? That is exactly the sort of thing what I want to do for my traction project...right down to using trolley poles! :thumb:
...And A Great Website It Is!
From what I saw of the articles and pictures on your website, it's US who should be thanking YOU, I think. Love 'em. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Well, the mine just beside it is likely to be known as "Tyson's Folly". :thumb:
Well, the legs are coming together, and I have roughly put on the backdrop, as well as starting to work on the front fascia...which will not be blue... :p Here's a shot:
Aha!
Oops! Well, you've helped me in two areas, Gary. Many thanks! I wasn't sure if the roadbed (see? learning already! :thumb: ) served another important function.
Since I love the clickety-clack sound anyway, and I'm modelling narrow gauge where there really is no elevated roadbed...
Here's one of those questions that gives away the fact that I'm a newbie. The question relates to the modular layout I'm building. Is the only advantage of the Homasote-type (or cork, for that matter) sub roadbed to dampen noise? If so, is there really much need for this stuff on a layout that...
That's the whole idea, Phillip. Year after year, there are never any On30 displays or layouts at the Edmonton show, and I got tired of getting only blank slares when I asked about On30 of anyone. This way, I can hopefully have people come to me. It seems to be up to me to get On30 out there...
...Contained an article on scratchbuilding a small station by my idol, Ben King. Anyone have that one, by any chance? :)I'd love to get some dimensions for a similar structure.
Thanks! :thumb:
Headed West, Eh?
Well, as usual, there is an open invitation to all and any Gauge members to drop into my place, about 30 minutes west of Edmonton. I'll see to it that the layout is presentable for a tour... :thumb:
PM me, if you're interested...
It's A Keeper!
That looks like a super trackplan, Val. While you might not get that many tracks in the yard, (covered already...) I, for one cannot wait to see you do it justice. :thumb:
I Have Some, Too!
I have the Bachmann Plus F-7 AB units. Got them at a fire-sale price on a closeout. The only complaint I ever had was that the couplers were super hard to convert, and I wound up making drawbars to connect the units. I ran the powered ABs with a pair of dummy ABs from...
Progress: October 10th, 2004
I have built two of the four corner modules I'll need, and combined with the first four straight modules, Here's what we have so far. Planned towns, buildings, scenic elements, etc. are indicated.
The trackplan is really simple. Just a single main line bobbing...
I have already run this thread in AMR, so I appologize to those of you who've already seen this. Nevertheless, here we go.
For a good number of years now, I've been going to the Edmonton area train show in September, hoping to see some On30 stuff. First, when I'd only heard of the new...
