    A Quarter Century

I'm 49. Zathros, you think your time went fast, my daughter got married last week. She's 30! Her second marriage. We now have 4 grandkids! Coincidentally, I'm the same age my father was when I got married. How did I get to be the old man?:killer:

    How About a 1:1 Enterprise?

What? No Captain's Yacht? Reading this site, I can't tell if this guy is trying to get creative thought process going, or if he's serious. If he's trying to stimulate discussion, more power to him. If he's seriously trying to divert half of NASA's budget to this ship, good luck with...

    real life train question

Thanks guys. I rather suspected the locomotives were linked together, and knew they use electric motors. Just random thoughts that occured while waiting at a RR crossing.:steamtrain:

    real life train question

Questions for someone who knows real trains: When they hook multiple locomotives together to pull a big train, does each locomotive require a separate engineer, or do they connect together to be controlled from the lead loco? Also, secondary locomotives are often facing backwards. Is there a...

    Would it be cheating...

I have to agree with Micah. Unless you're building for a competition which forbids supports, go for it. Most helicopter models recommend thin wires embedded in the rotors.

    b52

Maybe you can scale one up? My biggest problem wouldn't be making a model that big, it would be convincing my wife that it would look cool hanging from the ceiling! I once told my wife I'd like to someday build the 4 foot ISS model, but she wasn't too receptive. I wonder how the boss would...

    Chip of Fiddlers Green

RIP Chip Fyn I recently found out that Chip Fyn, of Fiddler's Green has passed away. I know there are some in here who had their issues with him but I never had any problems with him or the FG site. I am on the FG email list and received a post from his son, who is apparently now the head of...

    Scania army truck

Good choice. Relatively simple box on a track. Easier than a tank.

    Rest in Peace, Neil Armstrong

I was 6 years old when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. It was night time when they landed. I remember going out to the front yard and staring at the full moon, trying to see them. The astronauts were my first heroes. Godspeed, Commander Armstrong, and thanks for your service.

AXMs Soyuz capsule in 1:48 (with modifications)

Ok, that's understandable. I was wondering because I am planning to update my Buran Grasshopper build and was afraid maybe it was getting too old.

    Types of paper...

I like to use paper clamps, they are in office supply stores. kinda like metal clothespins, used to hold office paper stacks larger than paper clips will hold. My office tosses out lots of them in different sizes so that's where I got mine.

AXMs Soyuz capsule in 1:48 (with modifications)

Just wondering, how old does a post have to be before you consider it "dead"?
