C-17 Globemaster III by Chiawat in 1/200

Absolutely I would love to see build pics of this as you go. I have it printed out but haven't started it yet so build pics would help me out when I do start. Steve

Thanks Norton. It does help get me back on task to have comments like that. Even a simple "how's it going" question like Anthony asked the other day reminds me I'm slacking and helps bring my attention back to it. After that enquiry I put in an hour or two of editing and made great progress...

Progress? Well, right now the unfolding department is waiting for the next release from the editing department, which has made some progress but is not working very efficiently. Meanwhile the assembly department has been very busy building other stuff. Apparently modular origami has become a...

2 years of R&D and the full models completed

Wow! A very impressive accomplishment. Your models are certainly in a class by themselves. I love the way you've tackled the whole package - truck, trailer, excavator - not just one element but all of them. It looks like it will provide many hours of great play time, and in between is a...

I'm sure there are other products out there, those were just two I was familiar with. I would have thought the art shop would have other suggestions. These products are also used for preserving pastel and charcoal artwork, watercolor art, maps, and many other things. Good luck. Steve

    Eagle Transporter Space 1999

Thanks for those, and I hope you do a build thread on your 34" version. That would be something to see. Steve

Protecting your model As soon as I print my pattern sheets I spray them with a fixative like this Krylon product, but lately I can't buy that in town so I've been using this Patricia Nimocks product I pick up at Wal-Mart. The results have been just as good. I like these because they don't...

    Eagle Transporter Space 1999

Great looking build there. Sure wish I had more time to build. Of course it doesn't help that the world is filled with so many shiny objects.... Hey what's that over there! I think the retextured one is excellent. Releasing it as an add-on kit would be equally excellent. It takes the whole...

Think Jays Galactica is lonely, need some help

Hi RF. Glad to see you working on Cloud 9. It's still on my to-do-list but since you're tackling it I can take it off. If you can, try and unfold the dome along the darker panel lines. That would make edge coloring easier and hide the join lines more effectively. I'm also thrilled to see your...

Small update Thanks for the comments guys. No pictures to share at this time. I'm working away at cleaning up the wings and engines, removing intersections, figuring out how the pieces will be built, what detail to keep, what to remove, etc. The more I work with the model, the more I appreciate...

Think Jays Galactica is lonely, need some help

Colonial One - single file For easy download the Colonial One files are now available as a single file in ZIP or PDF format on my website http://stevespaper.com. They are on the Battlestar Galactica page in the Downloads section. Thanks to Revell-Fan for his kind permission to host the files...

Think Jays Galactica is lonely, need some help

Learned something new Ya know, I didn't know you could attach such large files right to the thread post like that. I always thought there was a size limit there too. Learned my something new for today, and it's still morning sign1 Steve

    SAAR 2 Missile Boat

What kind of glue did you use on the strings? I tried this technique on my MO65 build but couldn't get the results you've achieved. Great work on this whole build. Is this to be released as a kit in the future? I really like the ship and you're doing a bang-up job on it. Steve

Think Jays Galactica is lonely, need some help

For heaven's sake. I must say I'm amazed at how a simple upload/download has been made so cumbersome. I'm sure there was some reason the file got split into chunks, but I thought the moderators were not faced with file size limits, and I can't think of any other reason to do this. Revel-Fan...

Fab! Revell-Fan you continue to amaze and mesmerize us. Great job on the movers ship. I suggest you try contacting Zathros (he's one of the moderators) about the uploads as well. If Ekuth hasn't responded by now something is amiss. I look forward to your next project. Steve

Excellent! Those are some great pics of some great builds of some very cool planes. I love the night shots and the way you've illuminated them. Very inspiring. I need to get more creative with my photos. Thanks for sharing. Steve

Thanks Thanks guys, glad you like it. I got the lower hull glued to the main hull last night and it looks good. A bit of a gap on the forward section that I'll have to track down the source of and correct. I think my 1mm card was more like 1.5mm, or else I just didn't make the skin quite...

Lower hull forward section And now we move on to the forward section of the lower hull. This is the part with the doors to the shuttle bay (or whatever it's called). As always we start with the formers, laminated to 1mm card and cut out. And then assembled. Now the skins, and the...

Lower hull rear section Now we move on to the rear section of the lower hull. It's much simpler than the mid-section. First the formers. Then the skins. Also in this picture is the top part of the display stand. The small piece glued to cardboard in the upper right quadrant is a former...

Update Well, it's been a while, but I've been plugging away. This will be probably be a lengthy, multi-post update, so without further ado, here's some pictures. The lower hull is divided into three sections. These are the formers for the midsection of the lower hull. All pieces are...
