    BSG 75 Emblem

Awesome RB - Your build looks even better than mine. Thanks for posting the picture. How do you like the size? I never thought about using it as a stand, but that's a great idea. I could even make a smaller one with fewer parts, putting more of the details in the textures. It could be used...

Sorry, I'm not following that. Which pictures are you referring to, and are you saying that the texture in the render I posted is not the Cerberus but the Normandy from ME3? And mirroring is in the only way to go. Cuts the work in half. Steve

Excitement! Well, it's been a long time, but subject to the usual oversights and corrections that will be required the 3D work is done. Well, except for mirroring the wing and engines over to the other side and fixing the textures that end up backwards, but that's pretty quick work. Here's...

    BSG 75 Emblem

BSG 75 Emblem - more pics And here are a few in progress pics.... The first three show a few stages of the assembly. The fourth is the finished product as posted above. The fifth image shows what happened when I tried to clear coat it to make it look shinier. Oops. I forgot that I had...

    BSG 75 Emblem

This is a little project I started fiddling with a long time ago. Well, okay, a very long time ago. But I finally pulled it to the top of the pile and have finished a beta version at least. Here's a shot of the finished product, and a link to the beta version for anyone that would like to...

Thanks Anthony, those images are perfect. Someday (and you know how someday goes) I'd like to redo the SR1 in scale with my SR2. I have a mesh of the SR1 that I'm sure was ripped from the game as well. The original one I did was a not-very-accurate mesh someone else made, but it sufficed at the...

    My 1/144 International Space Station

As a former smoker myself, I respectfully suggest that the yellowing you've observed on your previous models may be due to smoke rather than the clear coat actually yellowing. No clear coat can protect your models from the deposits left by cigarette smoke. I gets on everything. Steve

What is the ship pictured in that third picture? I can see some differences from the other two pictures. And thanks for that first one with the ship length. Now I have a scale. Actually, while I'm thinking of it, is the Normandy from ME2 the same length as the one in ME3, and what is the...

Looks pretty cool. A repaint of that would not be out of the question. I'd need a few more shots from different angles, and it won't happen right away, but I definitely like it enough to give it a go. Steve

More info? I didn't know there was a new color scheme. I've not yet played the game and hadn't seen any images or references to a new color scheme. I'm good with the 3D design and manipulation, but my graphic arts skills are much less developed. I've learned a lot, but still have a ways...

Huh? Thanks for the comments. I've not had any experience in the aerospace industry. What's pictured in my last post is the original mesh, designed by someone else, then my simplified version of it for card modelling. The textures are not shown so you can see the mesh more clearly...

Update and huh? Honestly, I don't even wanna know what you guys are talking about! sign1 I finished simplifying the first (inner) engine last night. Before and after images are below. At a glance I'd say they don't look too different. With some edge coloring it should build up very...

Small update Hi all, Just so you know I'm still here and working on this, here's a small update. I got started unfolding the engines and wings and remembered that I'd kept a lot of very small details in the mesh. Some of these details are too small for the scale I'm working on now, but...

    Mi-24 Hind D

MI 24-D for sale I was just checking out their site, and it says they ship worldwide. The Hind 24-D is still available, but at $49 US it's not cheap. Of course for the quality and size shown here it would be worth it. I'm sorely tempted. Steve

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I've designed it with the spars 2mm thick, just as you suggest. You're pretty much thinking exactly what I was, so that's a good sign. The intent was that each component can be made separately, then slid onto the wing spars. The wing spars would ensure that...

Input requested Hey gang, I could use some input from all of you. I'm kind of waffling on how to make the wing and engine assemblies nice and sturdy. The general assembly sequence is illustrated below. Build the support structure Add the inner wing skins Slide the inner engine...

    1/72 Yak-17

Excellent Your build of the Yak looks great despite the photo problems you describe. Models always look better to the naked eye than they do through the camera though. The camera tends to expose so many little details that aren't really visible to the eye. I've built a couple of Nobi's...

I plan on adding the main gun suggested above. I don't recall any other upgrades at the moment. And yes, the department stuff is just a silly analogy for my scattered mind and lack of focus. Definitely some attention deficit happening. No, I actually started it. It was my idea! MINE! Darn...

Small update Well, for those of you wanting an update, here's the latest. As usual, things tend to work out in unexpected ways. The editing department finally got back to work on the wings and engines, and this work led to a re-design of the lower hull section, in order to make attaching the...
