    Model Power flexi Track

That's all I use on my layout and I have no complaints. It is "stay in place" track so when you bend it holds it's shape which I think is a real feature. So far I've laid about 225 feet of it and it's all good. The one thing I did notice is that most of the ends need to have metal flash trimmed...

    Turntable

Looks great, keep the progress pix coming! Since I'd like to do one of these maybe by spring, I need to know what to watch out for.

    Turntable

The install looks like it's going great! One of these days I'm going to purchase one of those TT's as well. I found this link for a 15 volt VAC transformer From ALL Electronics: A.C. Wall Transformers It usually takes a week to get the items but sometimes it's worth the wait. Hope it helps!

    Turntable

First off - Look'in good! Second yes the round house sits on the plywood and yes you have to cut holes for the inspection pits. It this the TT with indexing? If so how does it work? I think I want to purchase the same one. I've been putting it off but this would be the only one that would...

    make my own ground foam

Sawdust is what I use. I use different size strainers to get the different results. I just add a few drops of paint in a container and mix it and dry it on a cookie sheet. If (and most of the time it does) it clumps up, then I put it in a blender to break it all up. I've only used it as...

    Which track to use?

KentBy, If you have older engines you should probably stick with code 100 track. I would go for the flex track and use the section track only if necessary. Some of the older engines have larger flanges on the wheels that require the higher rail height. So for what it's worth I say code 100...

    Turntable

I really don't know if this will work for DCC, I only have used it on DC. The polarity on DCC is determined in the locomotive module not on the track. The value of the resistor is determined by the voltage divided by amperage (ohm's law) Hope this helps.

    Turntable

Here is the simplest one I use. I use them very sparingly as they do draw off the track power. For me though this isn't a problem because I use the old Hogger tethered throttles which are 10 amps @ the track. Mostly one on the led in track and on the turntable bridge hidden between the rails...

    Turntable

Hi Mentor63 and welcome to the group. I've done a bunch of turntables and I always add a reverse/forward switch to the table track. Simply put if the table is turned around, the lead track or the storage track polarity might be reversed. Forgive me if this is too simplistic but this is the way I...

    Atlas Code 100 #8 Turnouts

Just Curious to see if anyone has used the Atlas Code 100 #8 Mark 3 Turnouts yet? They seemed to be better made than the #4 or #6. Thanks.

Hey John, I'm just south of Boston. I have the same issue, the clubs around here are not close enough and they are way too big. I model in HO, mostly freelanced with Santa Fe Rolling Stock. I keep a small website for progress Trainiac77 at it again!. Paul

Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show

Was wondering if anybody made it to the "Big E" in Springfield MA over the weekend? Biggest trainshow I've ever been to. All I can say is amazing! There were about 30 operating layouts, hundreds of vendors, and about 12,000 show gowers. So much to buy but not enough moeny!
