    Reminiscing-First Train Set

Mine was a mish-mash of things that I was able to afford after my first summer job...I had a B&O Lifelike Docksider, the Katy cattle car, an old Penn gondola that I stole from my brother's collection (which I have given back, some 40 years later!) and a Santa Fe Caboose. Only had a oval of brass...

That's my style as well, freelance what fits in the space you have to work with. One of the first priorities on my approval list! (Now if I could only convince my wife!)

Jandr, Thanks for the plans. It really gives perspective to all the other pictures. Did you come up with this or was it a prototype? Either way it's great! I'm in between layouts (and trying to sell my house!) so I'm just tucking those ideas away when I'm able to build the next layout...

Jandr, Your layout looks great! The TT is coming out fantastic. I was wondering if you had some sort of track drawing? with all those rises and different levels I was wondering how all the track ties in together? Thx

    My Pictures

Awsome Job daboonk! :thumb: Great work on the bridges! :thumb: I say if you enjoy it, run it! That's what makes this hobby fun! For me, I would hate to have to always think twice about what runs with what. I'm happy running what have to run!

    Bachmann Spectrum consolidation issue

Cracked PC boards are easily repairable...Just scratch off the green insulation on both sides of the crack and solder a piece of wire across. It can be tricky if the etches are small, just use smaller wire.

All pix are viewable now, thanks  By the way, have you thought about extra weights on the Green Line LRV? I have 2 of them and they really don't run very well. They seem to be very noisy. Your thoughts? Trainiac77

    Old-Timer Needs an Opinion...

I agree with FiatFan. Homasote can soak up moisture in the air and sag terribly, this comes from experience! Why no go with 5/8" Plywood only if you want to save money? (Not that I really recommend just plywood alone.)

Can that be done easily on a Walther's 130' TT?

    Turntable

Mentor, One thing I should have looked at in the beginning when I was in purchasing mode was that the 130' Walther's TT is code 83. I didn't realize that until a couple of night ago while I was installing more Roundhouse floors. I run code 100 completely! I did fine that Walther's sells a...

    Turntable

Mentor. One of these days I'll get some pictures up. For now there are only holes in the table. I have 2 more 3 stall round houses coming tomorrow and I'm bidding on a couple more on ebay. I'd like to have an almost complete circle of roundhouse. I just completed the concrete coaling tower...
