    Railfanning the Tehachapi (7 pictures)

First train at the loop. Actually, when I first saw this picture I was thinking that it could be a good candidate to a "is it real or is it model" quiz, the mountains almost looks like a painted backdrop don't they?

    Railfanning the Tehachapi (7 pictures)

Last Saturday I went to Tehachapi for a little bit of railfaning, and I thought that I would share a few pictures with you. It was a great day with a decent amount of traffic, but we did have a dead period of almost 2 hours right after we got there, so I was getting a bit nervous that I would...

I haven't done any artwork on the computer, I don't have the patient or skills for that, but I do use my computer to make drawings of buildings I want to scratch build. This is one example of Santa Susana depot in Simi Valley I scratch build in N scale last year. I have purchased Serif...

    Layout Update Photo

    >>I encourage any and all comments about the layout. In my opinion you have way to much track. Seems like you have only planned 6" for the turntable, 6" = 40', I'm not sure if you can find a 40' turntable. If you can work around the table, which I assume you can, then I would probably have...

    stub switch or turnout

Stub turnouts sure looks interesting. For a 2 way stub turnout I would probably use a small nail on each 'outer' position as stops, but for 3 way turnouts I guess you would have to eyeball the center position.

mini scene - Woodland Scenic's "Smiley's Tow Service"

Here are a few pictures of what I have been working on for the last couple of weeks. It's Woodland Scenic's mini scene "Smiley's Tow Service" which comes complete with castings, ground foam, trees etc. I think overall it turned out ok, most of the castings needed a lot of cleaning/filing to...

    First RAW photo

This one is difficult. First, none of the pictures are RAW anymore, the have both been resized and converted to JPG :) I think it is impossible to say which one was the RAW picture. The bottom one seems to have a little more detail of the background, but it could simply be because of...
