    Double Diamond Ranch

I'm chuckling here Robin I'm thinking perhaps you don't have enough hair left on your head after this project to tackle models on commission Robin!!! :D :D :D I do agree though that the effort that goes into models of your quality are really priceless. I would hate to have to make...

    Double Diamond Ranch

Robin, I'm awed at your inventiveness and skill in scratchbuilding. Every aspect of your project is just out of this world. Your stonebuilt structure had my jaw hitting the desk with it's texture and colours... what a fantastic technique! Then I find it didn't stop there! A wind pump...

    bridge /tunnel???

Belg, I'd agree with Catt and Robin. There's a couple of reasons for leaving it as a bridge.... 1) .. The upper track is too low to warrant a tunnel, in real the engineers would make a cut rather than a tunnel. 2) .. Access to the switches is easier, you never know when you're going to need...

    Started building the GG&N

WooHoooo Fab trackplan Paul! ... Heaps of operating possibilities and multi train running. I like cookie cutter bases too, tends to simplify building up scenery. Hope you enjoy wiring ... :) . (it's the best part of modelbuilding :D ) Just a thought.... if you send your wife to her mother's...

The layout I made from The Box

Still so much needs done! Here's two views of what is developing over here. I'll probably replace plastic with,or add scratchbuilt timber buildings as I just adore such structures. Heaps of trees yet to be made, crowds of LPB's yet to be painted to popuate the place. Pathways and bits and...

The layout I made from The Box

5 months later Gee, I sure feel guilty at not having done anything since May to this layout. BUT ..... during the last month, thanks to Val's (aka Spitfire) suggestion of how to fill the Eastern End of this pike, I got motivated and bashed in a general arrangement. (only the street is...

    first mini scene

The whole scene is great Belg. You say it's not finished yet so I guess you'll be fitting chimneys to the buildings. I suggest the advertisements on the fence could do with a bit of weathering, but heck, that's just being picky. The scene is terrific just the way it is. Well done. Oh, ain't...

    More HOn30

Chris, I don't know how you could bear to part with those beauties! On the other hand, I know what it's like having models in several gauges, hehehehe, never know which one to get on with most! I adore the shot of the Sn30 "past layout", it makes an ideal subject for a diorama. Heck, I...

    Fullard Glass Co.

Robin, I'm amazed at your innovativeness in making such a superb structure from a singe photo of the prototype. All the "finnicky" detail like the railings etc give the model such a feeling of functionality. Just don't tell us the heartache you experienced getting it to the stage it's at...

    making templates

Belg, Jim Currie's idea sounds best but if you can't duplicate your templates just wipe your template (or the wax paper) with a white candle. The candlewax won't let any adhesive stick to it. Have fun Errol

    Structure Layout

Belg, Out west where I've travelled extensively it is not at all unusual to see what you describe as "mix-n-match" buildings in the smaller town. I personally love seeing old weathered timber buildings in between brick and stone built structures. Such a mixture gives an aesthetic look and...

    A Pile of Pumpers

Charlie, I've been suffering anxiety attacks on how to scenic the righthand end of my layout!!! :(  :D . All I've done in 14 weeks is ballast about 3 ft of track and fitted an interior lamp to Tyson's gas station. Poor showing huh? Oh Lordy gimme an imagination as good as...

    A Pile of Pumpers

Super examples of your great modelling skills Robin. I wish I had the patience for such repetitive work. Don, I seee you've had the steaks served aboard British Railways!! ... :D :D (I'm surprised you survived them .. :D ) Errol

    Headin' for home

Lovely photo of a fine old lady in a great setting Casey. I just "unpacked" my poor running MDC/Roundhouse version of that loco. It is identical in every detail to yours including the smokebox No plate and number except yours has brass domes. The poor running qualities (of mine) is due...

    new guy's photos.

Thanks for sharing your pics Steve, The trackplan is great for "just watchin the trains". (I too just like watching trains run). I think you would do well to insert a second crossover between your main lines though.... as it progresses with scenery etc you will kick yourself for not doing it...

    Covered Water Tank

Geeeee Robin, You went and did it again!! Don't you ever pick on Simple structures to build??? :D :D It looks great! All that time spent cladding the card with timber sure paid dividends. Errol

A tow boat for the river barges

That's a top notch model you built there Ralph. You must have a super knack of looking at everything and thinking how it's shape and size can be used to fit a model ... great innovation Sir with very impressive results. I love the details like railings, ladders, antennae, lifebelts, flag etc...
