    Successful Use of Electromagnets?

A single coil one ,with thicker steel sideplates might solve the problem - the couplers need to be moved further to the side and it sounds like they aren't moving far enough

    Trucks roll too freely.

A cure for free-rollers is a bit of foam rubber jammed between the axle and the top of the truck - just supplies the little bit of friction needed

    Interchange / Operations

Well - my beltline would service industrial tracks within the city and handle transfers between the mainline operators - might need a few city ordnances to keep the big players out - but ain't that what poly-ticking is all about? Shortliner(Jack)away up here in the Highlands

David - do yourself a favour and look at http://www.lancemindheim.com/ It isn't the FEC, but it is set in Florida. I think its one of my favorite model railroads - just wish I had the space. I do have a trackplan worked out for 84"x18" in HO that is based on it. If you went to N it would fit...

    Strange e-mail

I got it too - and since I'm not, and never have been, anything to do with it - I dumped it straight into the black hole that is marked delete! They obviously have too many members if they can happily junk 50% of them. One of mine currently has 3576, and there is no intention of deleting any...
