Russ, Thanks for the link, I'll keep it handy in case I have trouble! So far my Athearn units are ok electrically. I like the detail level on the RTR units such as the GP35s and 38s with wire grab irons etc...The GP35s also have microlamps which are awesome! My only complaint...noisy motors...

My GP38s from this year do not have directional microbulbs or DCC plug and play ready. The RTR GP35 and GP40X DO have directional microbulbs and are DCC plug and play ready.

I use hot glue! I'm too impatient to wait for regular glue to dry! Just be careful you don't melt the foam too much...bad toxic fumes result! Be sure to have plenty of ventilation.

Fred, You bring great ideas to the table. I have no problem speaking up to the manufacturers, I can certainly forward a list to Kato. Are there any other roadnames they should consider? And Yes, Walthers has a nice selection....I currently have 7 Walthers F40PH locos...I really like...

In my quick google search I found a number... F40PH-2C....64'3" over the coupler faces. My Walthers F40PH is 56'6" over the coupler faces. A difference of 8 feet! That's huge!
