    Walk thru Duck Under

Powering the rails will be no problem that I can see. Shutting down rail power, when the gate is open, is where I am stumped. Interlocking the modules electrical connection to the an open gate wouldn't be a problem either. Unfortunately we have some speed demons in the club and a short 10" of...

    Walk thru Duck Under

Still have a long ways to go and some electrical bugs to work out. So far the I am pleased with the strength and alignment of everything. Planning on using some veneer on the gate face to make it look like a bridge. Something like this -

    Walk thru Duck Under

For clamping the towers I used a piece of electrical channel, (don't know what is called) It is 1 and 1/2" wide x 3/4 high. I used 1 1/2" angle barstock bolted to the towers and 1 1/2" flat barstock for clamping.

    Walk thru Duck Under

Walk thru Module Tired of having to crawl on my knees under the "Duck under" at our NTrak show layouts. Several clubs have a lift type gate, but I wanted to be different, guess that is what happens when you retire and like to play with wood. Still have a ways to go and several bugs to work...

The conversion went in great, and the heights were all acceptable without any shimming.

    coupler and truck conversions

I had no choice but to truck mount. I was in luck as the old Arnold truck frames were not made of Delrin. I cut and ground out the Rapido coupler pocket and filled the little slot with styrene. Then using .04" styrene, I fabricated a plate to anchor the 1015 MT coupler. That is a little...

    coupler and truck conversions

I also like to body mount the Micro Train couplers whenever possible. I tried on these old Arnold heavy weight "N" scale passenger cars. No matter how much I wittled off the truck frame and the 1015 MT coupler I could not increase the swing of the truck.

    MicroSoft Train Simulator....

Holy smokes what a quest!. Tried three Wal-Marts in our area and none to be had. Went camping in Massachusetts this past weekend and found an out of the way Wal-Mart when we went shopping. Shucks golly gee they had three copies. Loaded it onto a spare pewter that the kids use for games and...

Its Monday 8-29-05, Weekend modeling accomplishments!

They sure look better than the horn hooks the cars came with and much better to scale than the "N" scale Micro Train size. They work fantastic, had no problem making up a consist.
