    Starting my NTrak modules

Mounting the male fitting provided a little challange. I thought that the fitting would sit secure enough into bored blocks. Too loose and wobbly for my liking. Back to the Orange Box to play with more hardware. Found that a 1 1/4 x 1/2 reducer filling the fitting could provide a secure...

    Starting my NTrak modules

For the leg adjustment I used a 1 1/4" union and plugged one end with a 1 1/14 x 1/2 " reducer. Playing with all the hardware in our local Orange Box (Home Depot) I found that a 1/2-20 nut was a very tight jam fit into the 1/2 part of the reducer. Great! - so I will use a 1/2-20 x 2 1/2" long...

    Starting my NTrak modules

Got to do some more work on my modules today. Decided to go with 1 1/4" PVC legs. Mounted a female threaded fitting to the top of the leg and will mount the male part under the module. I know that if the male fitting was on the leg the threads would probably get damaged somewhere during...

    Walk Thu Module

Hi again inkaneer, really like your term "FortNtrak." Your Club is fortunate that you can make the layouts you describe but our Club is locked into the box shape. Many members of our Club have extra wide modules with seperate loops of operating track and setup yards behind their skyboards. It...

    Walk Thu Module

Hi inkanner, I agree, it sure would make things easier with the type layouts you described. There are however advantages in having a square or rectangular layout for modular shows. In most cases, these layouts fully utilize the floor space allocated the club for the show. They also seperate...

    Starting my NTrak modules

I chose to eliminate the cross member because the 18" skyboard is an integral part of the frame and therefore will not sag. My only concern would be racking of the frame but with the styrofoam solidly adhered to the frame that will also, I hope, be no problem. I utilize all the underspace of...

    Starting my NTrak modules

In the process of laying out a track plan and scenery details. These are the modules that I want to switch-back from the blue line up to the mountain division. The large upright ends, with the holes cut in them, are primarily for support for the skyboard. Figure on putting in a harbor on the...

    Starting my NTrak modules

Found that if you edge the top of your skyboards they will not get beat up during transport and handling. Here I used some 3/8" channel.

Its FRIDAY 8-04-06, Weekend Modeling Plans!

Hope also to complete the boxes I made for transporting my rolling stock. Made the dividers using "FoamSeal" a product used to seal sills on cement foundations in new construction. I just cut strips of varing widths and hot glued them in place. The system works well, now all I have to do is...

Its FRIDAY 8-04-06, Weekend Modeling Plans!

Although I am retired I usually have only the weekends to work on my hobby. Here is a little speeder I saw in a magazine and just had to have one in N scale. Scratch built from styrene I completed about 90% of it while on a camping trip last week. Hope to get it painted this weekend.

    train show

Hey Mr Bubbles, the Better Living Center is the building we are located in. The NorthEast NTrak modular display is up close to one corner (corner to left of the food court). Look for the Charles Ro Company, they cover a large area and we are usually set up next to them.

Hi Mr. Bubbles, I've attended these shows for the last five years. I sign up and participate with the Northeast Ntrak group for the weekend. Over the years I have entered all my Ntrak modules in their modular display and have done real well, one first place and best of show year before last...

    Highway overpass

Found my other picture of the highway overpass, hope it's not too big to open. This picture shows the actual length of the overpass. Too big, will try and shrink it.

    Highway overpass

Shipping the completed structure should pose no problem as long as I do not attach the towers. Hope my brother does not ask me for the vehicles I pictured.
