    Help need an animated waterfall

Pennsy great web site! little pricey as you say, not too sure if I want to invest that much in a mock up. They have some other items that look real interesting for future projects and have bookmarked the site it in my favorites ~ thank you.

    Playing around in PhotoShop...

Nice! I like it because it makes a good representation as to what "The Gauge" is about.

Question of the day, 11-14, structures

In the beginning I built them all as kits. Later, I had to modify several to cut down their footpirnt, I saw how easy it was to bash a kit and I've not been the same since. Now if I see an interesting kit, I look at it and say to myself, "what can I make with this"? Lately however, I am...

11-01 Take 'em out? Do your models leave home?

All mine travel to every show the Club participates in. We have a show this coming Sunday, the Club is setting up an impressive 23 x 30 foot modular layout. Going to put some miles on a number of my engines and rolling stock.

    Help need an animated waterfall

Hi Steven, The light seems to be the key, has to be bright with no hot spots and since it will be confined in the foam there cannot be too much heat. A Club member suggested fibre optics, I have plenty of that laying around, so I guess I will make a mock-up and try that next.

    Help need an animated waterfall

I am working on several NTrak modules and I would like to have an animated waterfall. I know you have all seen the lighted pictures of Niagra Falls in shopping malls, the one where it looks like the water is flowing in the picture. Is something like that possible on a module? Tried several...

Update on my "N" track modules

Hi Andrew, the mine entrance is made from styrene strips. Going to name the mine "NOTURES - MINE". Hi Pete, I will be at Springfield for the entire weekend but I do not think I will be bringing any modules with me this year. These two are months away from completion and I will never have...

    Rock out croppings question?

Hi Steve, Missread your post, thought you had some rock outcrop castings and wanted to put them on. Woodland Scenics has some great rubber rock molds that you purchase and use. If you know any other modelers or are a member of a club, check with some of them, more than likely someone has...

Update on my "N" track modules

Love rainy days, get to work on my modules. Made some castings using the molds I made from the rock I borrowed. Started added the rock outcroppings to the left module, this one will be heavily forested and the right one will be an example of early day clear cut. (Still casting my roots...

    Rock out croppings question?

Steve, I am assuming that have a base to anchor your casting to. I used 2 inch foam and formed the rought contours of my mountains. I like to adhere my castings with a stuff called "Sculptamold". It can be found in most craft stores, basically a paper mache/plaster and it must have some...

Logging - need picture of clear cut

While I was in the mold making mood, and since I needed two I, decided to make up a timber tunnel portal. I made a model and one inside support wall from styrene and poured a mold with them.
