    Baffled

I have use DCC in HO and installed decoders and I know the bare basics but, never used DCC or installed a decoder in N Scale and to be honest I was gun shy since the last time I took a N Scale engine apart(around 25 years ago) I never could get it to run right. Thanks to you I cracked...

David,It should be a simple straight forward kit..My best advance is to follow the instructions. I would start by painting the "bricks" to kill the shine..I use Mineral Brown by Floquil.

I am thinking on building a small N Scale layout and more then likely use basic DCC with a Bachmann E-Z Command system-its made by Lentz. My current plan calls for 4 locomotives and will use 2 at a time on a rotation bases.. If memory serves the Atlas frame needs to be milled for a...

    N Scale Supply

As far as my not so local hobby shops they will see a lot less of me due to having to pay full MSRP on top of $3.67.9 gas for a 52-53 mile round trip. and I may have the need to make a return trip if he needs to order anything like a simple bottle of Enchantment Blue or Grimy Black or the...

The price will be $69.95. N Trainman GP15-1 Locomotive That means the street price should be between $49.00-55.00. I suspect lower street prices once the first release "feeding frenzy" is over.

    N Scale Bldg Kits.

In my travels I have seen a few shanties that look like shaygetz's shanty that lack trim work...These was usually some type of office for pulpwood yards, scrap yards tire recycling yards and other like industries... Of course one needs to get off the Interstate highways and take the byways to...

Facing Point Spurs and the Crew

We would spot our train in the passing track then make the run around..Why? Most old line conductors knew we would need to wait on at least one train even if it was 15 miles away before we could make our move!!! We would shove against the caboose when making a facing point set out. Also IF...

    DC or DCC??

As of now one of the HO club's has gone DCC..The other HO club has shelved the idea till we get the cash. The N Scale club has decided DC for now since that is what the majority uses on their small home layouts. Now here I sit at a decision point.Currently I don't have room for a HO...

To my old eyes those "chessie" units look more like UP units as the top of the hood appears gray instead of blue and the frame and fuel tank appears gray as well..

    Double Double And Oddities To!

Scott,It is a beautiful place to railfan.I am told eventually there will be railroad museum inside of the T&OC station and perhaps a caboose on display. As RailOhio can vouch the place for crossing diamond sounds in this area has to be Marion with its double track diamonds.

I really hate when decals fall apart regardless of scale..It makes the job that much harder.. I think you did a very good job under those conditions.:thumb: To be honest I pitch 'em if they come apart in to many places. Rest assured my comment WAS NOT directed toward you.It was just a...

Actually it DOES matter..A poorly decalled locomotive or car looks bad regardless of scale. Now unless you have bad eye sight you surely don't need a magnifying glass to see N Scale decals..Even with my glasses off I can still decal my N Scale equipment.

    cn/chessie lashup?

Speaking as a former C&O/Chessie brakeman the answer will depend on what division and which road. First thing you must remember is NONE of the Chessie roads was merged under the Chessie banner. So,it may not happen on the Chessie(C&O) but,it could have taken place on the Chessie(B&O). However...
