    Why not have the engine to "tip toe" through the creek? Logging railroads did last for years..When the timber was "worked out" it was time to move to the next "fall area"..So,everything including the mill was moved.

    The definition of a "yard" varies from railroad to railroad. A yard can be one side track just as long as its designated as a yard on in the employee time table. A team track can be part of the freight house track lead.

    Indeed..I have shot a lot of pictures and videos from that side..Joe Slanser once dubbed it "Larry's curve".sign1 I suppose that was a spoof of the famous "Don Ball curve" that photographer Don Ball used in many of his pictures.

    Indeed it is a great place to watch trains.One can see up to 24 trains in 6-7 hours and if one comes on Sundays they can visit the Marion Model Railroad club between trains.Now cap that with nearby restaurants its hard to beat.

    Why not rotate those surplus engines and cars? That way you don't need to use the same engine unless you are modeling a short line with very few locos.. What I have done over the years is "cull" out the cars and locomotives that I bought on a whim or those that no longer fill my needs..
