History Channel - another Train Series!!!

They don't scream in public..They scream at the railroad. All loads are priceless to the end user that needs it for production. Have a rail car ot truck not to show and listen to the production scheduler scream.

History Channel - another Train Series!!!

I seen a engineer stall a 1400 ton train.. Of course the rail was wet and leaf covered and a 1.6% grade on a curve with a 10mph slow order.Inattention help to.Had he paid more attention instead of talking baseball to the conductor he would have notice the speed was falling.

What era draws your attention the most?

I guess I am modern if modern means the late 70s/early 80s.I am a big fan of modern short lines as well..My N Scale Layout will be set in the early 90s to avoid ditch light hassles.

Steel City N Scale Club - Hamilton

That's good the club can still meet as a round robin group..:thumb: Here's a suggestion..Maybe the members can get together once a month for a meeting over dinner and perhaps a slide show or show and tell. I know of a still born N Scale club that started that way but,all to sadly they was...

Steel City N Scale Club - Hamilton

In my best Indiana Jones voice..I hate snakes..sign1 But,unlike Indy I find them interesting but, never in the wild. Well it is a personal thing about being around folks.I dislike small meaningless chatter I hear from none rail folk and would rather spend time with modelers.

Steel City N Scale Club - Hamilton

I was once a lone wolf but, found I like "pack" life far better.:thumb: I would be lost without club membership, visiting clubs and fellowship with other modelers and railfans..For me that's what makes this hobby so enjoyable and how I keep up with the hobby..

Steel City N Scale Club - Hamilton

That's sad..Many clubs are finding homes at their local fairgrounds since most fair boards are stripped for cash and willing to rent a permanent building.Of course many fair boards require the layout to be on display during the week of the fair. As a side note..Many clubs are dissolved when...

    Let's get LOADED!

Josh,I am not sure..They're to short for Walthers 65 foot gon.Their add says it fits most gons-yeah right with some cutting. The dangest thing is only 2 rows of coils need to be removed.. The coil is cast resin but, hard to cut with a Dremel because it smooths the cutting disk.May be easier...

    Let's get LOADED!

Josh,I forgot to mention if you use the 52 foot mill gon like I did you will need to cut the load to fit.Needless to say its a hard cut even with a Dremel.

    Power Pack question

I used one for 6 months with my N Scale "fooling around track"-6 pieces of flex track and two manual switches..Worked ok for me.I will admit it was touchy between stop and reverse. I also perfer MRC packs but, when you just happen to have a N Scale power pack laying around. Oddly that...

Actually for small layouts using one locomotive of any brand those Bachmann power packs isn't that bad. Some times we forget our basic knowledge of such things.
