Placed the canopy. Thats definitely one sleek looking bird :)

Some small progress has been made. I just finished the canopy section of the Kfir. Glue is drying now. While the framework on the canopy dried I tried to add a bit realism to the mirrors. I took overheadprojector foil, cutted out the mirrors and glued them to the framepart. The part got also...

A tiny update on the Kfir. The canopy frame has been cut out and the edges are colores plus the parts are bent to the almost final shape. The Canopy Frame on the fuse has just been placed there to check the fit... Going to Munich this weekend to meet some old friends so the next update will...

Well the so called "Feinspachtel" is something like fine putty. You can use gypsum or plaster with a fine struture as well. Putty here in germany is available in different porosities. Use the finest putty you can get. If you are not satisfied with the surface you can use some spray primer and...

Yesterday I made the new (vacuformed) canopies. They are much clearer. Attached are some pics. To see the difference just compare pic 2 (Shrinking tube canopy with "smears" in it) and pic 3 (clearer vacuformed canopy)

Well as Tonino said... This is my modeling corner ;) It looks pretty much the same when I model because I tend to keep my tools tidy just in case I need something very quickly ;) The other pic is a quick glance into my R/C model workshop where I build the bigger things.... Same there... All...

Well I just wait for that vivak to vacuform a proper one which is clear... Not so blurry like the shrinking tube one :)

The last pictures of the series The shrinking tube canopy is good for checking the form and the fit but it is not so clear like a vacuformed canopy is. So the last pic is the test canopy on the Kfir to recheck the fit.
